BHEL Examination Pattern

BHEL Examination for induction as Supervisor Trainees has 150 Objective type
multiple choice questions with four Options. The questions and options should
be bilingual i.e. in Hindi and English.
If there is any variation between the English and Hindi versions of a question,
English version is to be treated as authentic.
Questions pertaining to General English will obviously be in English only.
The four optional answers are to be numbered (1) to (4).
The distribution of 150 Questions in each Booklet will comprise following:

Subject No. of questions

a) Questions on Subject/Discipline - 100 nos.


b) Test of Reasoning - 20 nos.
c) General Knowledge - 10 nos.
d) General English - 20 nos.

Total - 150 nos.

The sequencing of questions in the booklet should be the same as mentioned


above i.e.

i) Questions on relevant Discipline (HR / Mechanical Civil)


to be numbered - 1 to 100
ii) Questions on Test of Reasoning - 101 to 120
iii) Questions on General Knowledge - 121 to 130
iv) Questions on General English - 131 to 150

Duration of test will be 120 minutes.


There will be negative marking and 1/4th Mark will be deducted for each wrong
answer and one mark shall be awarded for each correct answer.
Difficulty level of questions – the questions should be a combination of very
difficult (around 20%), difficult (around 60-70%) and easy (around 10-20%).
Use of Calculators, slide rule, Smart Devices (Such as Smart Phones and
Smart watches etc) and any other study/reference material is NOT allowed and
shall lead to disqualification/disbarring from the Examination Hall.
