I find this story very painful because my heart barely stopped when I read the

final lines. The whole story is based on the life of a woman who suffers from post-
partum depression. Her husband refuses to accept such a diagnosis; therefore, it is
very difficult for her to bear this situation and carry on living. I do not even know
how she feels knowing her husband is unwilling to accept and state/assert such a
disorder. The family moves to the mansion in summer to relieve the woman`s pain
and feelings, and well-being. I paid attention to the details of that wall that was
described in the novel. The woman sees the image of the girl or woman who is asking
for help. Once she tried to help her to get out of that annoying and terrifying space,
and it means (in my interpretation) that she finally managed to release herself. She
was doing, fighting, and craving for that so much.
What is interesting is that I searched for more info and found out that medicine
and its development were not on the top at the time the novel was written. The author
is against isolating women from the outer world because it is truly destructive and
harmful, detrimental. The women`s suffering and suggestions, personal feelings, and
requirements were not taken into consideration, which is extremely puzzling to
perceive. The novel puts the unconquerable woman in the first place due to her
braveness, purposefulness, patience, and willingness to conquer and get over the
disease.
