Use as
Hidden lights
Lights: Artificial lights
Corona light material (Lighting up bodies)
- Corona light material is used to light up bodies or objects, in Vray we use LightMesh which is not
included in Corona renderer so we use Corona light material
1
- To light up certain object
1. Create body object to be lighted up Use as
2.
3.
Open Material editor (M) > change mode to compact material editor
Get material icon > choose Corona light material
Hidden lights
4. Check on √ emit from both sides, Uncheck √ visible directly option to hide the body of the object
5. Assign material to selection (to apply corona light material on the object)
6. Define light
- Add (light select) element
- Add and (select all lights) inside the light select element as we need them to be the same intensity
and same color
- Apply denoising check mark √
- Note: when we use (Override Material) option, will prevent light from appearance, so to make light
appears > Exclude objects (+) > select the object which will be lighted up and add it to the right side
- Note: to make the object emit light from both sides > go to the Corona light material > check on √
(emit on both sides) option
- Note: to make object body not visible > go to the Corona light material > Uncheck Visible directly
option
7. Render, Use LightMix tab to edit light intensity & color (RGB or Kelvin scale)

Use as
Environment light for
interior shots

You can add sunlight

if needed
Lights: Artificial lights
Corona light material (Lighting up bodies)
- To make outside environment to (interior shots), especially when glass area in the shot is huge
2
- To make the environment:
1. Create two outside curved planes Use as
2. Create Corona light material Environment
3. Use texture bitmap instead of solid color to light up the scene from outside with it > choose light for interior
desired picture (sky ordinary picture)
Note: do not use override material because it will make glass areas solid color and will not allow
shots
light to enter the scene, or you can exclude glass from the material override exclusion (+)
4. Apply material to selection
You can add
Note: to view planes textures in viewport > active (show shaded material) in viewport from the
sunlight if needed
material editor
Note: use hidden lines method in viewport to view the texture in the viewport
5. Define light
- Add (light select) element
- Add and (select the all plane lights) inside the light select element as we need them to be the
same intensity and same color
- Apply denoising check mark √
6. Render, Use LightMix tab to edit light intensity & color (RGB or Kelvin scale)
7. Save .CXR file

Use as
Environment
light for
Exterior shots

You can add

sunlight if needed
Lights: Artificial lights
Corona light material (Lighting up bodies)
- To make sun > create sun light as we used to do it > remember not to active sky environment in the 3
sun parameters
- To make the environment (corona light material):
1. Create two outside curved planes
Use as
2. Create Corona light material
Environment
3. Use texture bitmap instead of solid color to light up the scene from outside with it > choose
light for
desired picture (sky ordinary picture) Exterior shots
Note: do not use override material because it will make glass areas solid color and will not allow
light to enter the scene, or you can exclude glass from the material override exclusion (+) You can add
4. Apply material to selection sunlight if needed
Note: to view planes textures in viewport > active (show shaded material) in viewport from the
material editor
Note: use hidden lines method in viewport to view the texture in the viewport
5. Define light
- Add (light select) element
- Add and (select the all plane lights) inside the light select element as we need them to be the same

- Apply denoising check mark √
- Render, Use LightMix tab to edit light intensity & color (RGB or Kelvin scale)
- Save .CXR file

Use Corona sun
Use Sky of Sun
Lights: Artificial lights
Lighting exterior scene
1
- To make environment to (exterior shots)
1. Create Corona sun > active sky environment in the corona sun Use Corona sun
2. Define light Use Sky of Sun
- Add (light select) element
- Add and (select the all plane lights) inside the light select element as we need them
to be the same intensity and same color
- Apply denoising check mark √
3. Render, Use LightMix tab to edit light intensity & color (RGB or Kelvin scale)
Note: In render screen, we will notice high exposure of sun and sky; we should
decrease intensity from the LightMix tab to be proper for the scene and balance
light for sun and sky together
- Note: export the PNG image (Alpha channel) , add background sky using photoshop
if needed

Lighting exterior scene
2
Use Corona sun
Use HDRI
(High dynamic
range image)
Lights: Artificial lights
Lighting exterior scene

- To make environment to (HDRI for exterior shots) (HIGH DYNAMIC RANGE IMAGE)
2
1. Download HDRI file, open it using Photoshop to check the texture
2. Open render setup (F10) > scene tab > Scene environment > Use corona > use bitmap texture Use Corona sun
> select HDRI file Use HDRI
3. Open material editor (M), drag HDRI file button from the environment file to a material (High dynamic
slot > be sure that mapping type is spherical > edit U offset of the rotation of the HDRI
map range image)
4. Drag as instance from corona environment to max environment (8)
5. View environment background to the viewport
6. Rotate, edit HDRI from material editor
7. Define light
- Add (light select) element
- Include environment light
- Apply denoising check mark √
1. Render, Use LightMix tab to edit light intensity & color (RGB or Kelvin scale)
Note: In render screen, we will notice high exposure of sun and sky; we should decrease
intensity from the LightMix tab to be proper for the scene and balance light for sun and
