Introduction:
In today's technology-driven
landscape, education seeks innovative
tools to enhance student learning and
academic performance. This study delves
into the potential of ChatGPT, a
powerful artificial intelligence (AI)
chatbot, as a guide for Grade 8 students
at Calabanga National Science High
School. It aims to assess the efficacy
of ChatGPT in terms of increasing their
academic performance.

Problem statement:
1. Does using ChatGPT as a learning guide
significantly improve student academic
performance compared to traditional
learning methods across various
subjects?
2. How does the effectiveness of ChatGPT
vary for students with different
learning styles?

Hypothesis:
1. If students use ChatGPT as a learning
guide, then their academic performance
may increase, because ChatGPT can
provide visual aids along with
explanations and informations that can
help them.
2. If kinesthetic learners use ChatGPT as
their learning guide, their academic
performance might be lower compared to
traditional methods that offer more
hands-on activities, because ChatGPT's
text-based interface may not effectively
cater to their preferred learning style
of tactile engagement and physical
movement.

Paraphrasing:
The study involved students into
two groups: one with access to ChatGPT
for help with the course material and
one without. After four weeks, the group
with ChatGPT access showed significantly
higher scores on a test measuring their
understanding of the material.
Additionally, both male and female
students in the ChatGPT group found it
to be a valuable learning tool.

Overall, the study suggests that

ChatGPT can be an effective tool for
boosting student achievement in specific
subjects, though more research is needed
to see if this applies to other areas
and how to address potential challenges
of using such technology in education.

Quote:
“The study revealed that ChatGPT had a
positive influence on student
achievement and perception of learning
in the field of electronic magnetism.”

Summary:
This research investigates the
potential of ChatGPT, a large artificial
intelligence (AI) chatbot, to act as a
personalized guide for Grade 8 students
at Calabanga National Science High
School (CNSHS) and boost their academic
performance. It aims to assess whether
using ChatGPT can lead to verifiable
improvements in their grades across
various subjects.

Overall, this research has the

potential to contribute significantly to
understanding the potential of ChatGPT
as a tool to enhance student learning
and academic performance.
