❖ A Book is an Ocean of Elixir with a sweetness of Poetry, Bitter Truths, Salty Sorrows, Astringent Agonies,

Spicy Situations, Sour Ruins, Greatest Battles Fought, Warriors’ Victorious Wars, Insightful Inventions,
Miserable Memories, Marvellous Mountains, Enchanting Nature, Colossal Calamities, Sound Histories,
Harmonious Heritage and Cherished Culture, Civilizations and the catalogue persists deep inside its pages in
the form of writing or images.

❖ Books are medium for recording information, increasing the knowledge, improving intellectuality, makes
aware of the various societies.

❖ The library is designated to collect, disseminate and preserve printed materials. It aimed to cultivate a culture
of book reading, fostering a learning society.

❖ A Library is a Place where Ideas are Born and where History comes to life. Library is a Tresure House of
Knowledge and Librarians are the teachers without the class Rooms.

❖ National libraries are the guardians of a country's national cultural heritage. They collect, preserve and
make available a country's history to all of its citizens, and open a window on that country to people all
over the world.

❖ Library is a Temple and catalogue is the key to unlock the wealth of wisdom and knowledge.
❖ Google can bring you back 1 Lakh answers but a Librarian is a powerful search engine who can bring you
back the right one.

❖ As India's literary heritage continues to flourish, National Library Week remains a vital annual celebration,
ensuring that the love for reading and libraries endures.

❖ Library week celebration is a boost to promote the reading habits among the Bibliophiles.

❖ Shri Iyyanki Venkata Ramanayya or Ayyanki Venkata Ramanaiah recognised as the “Architect of Public
Library Movement in India” was the man behind the formation of Andhra Pradesh Library Association. He
was honoured with the award of “Granthalaya Pitamaha” by the Maharajah of Baroda. The Government of
India honoured him with the Padmashri award.

❖ Andhra Pradesh Library Association organised an All-India Library Meeting in 12 November 1912 in Madras.
This meeting led to the forming of Indian Library Association. the committee developed the idea for National
Library Week, hoping that it would motivate people to read and support libraries. Later ILA declared 14
November as National Library Day. Since 1968, 14–20 November has been celebrated as National Library
Week all over India.

❖ National Library Week for "encouraging people to increasingly read in their leisure time "improving
intellectuality and inheritance of health" and "emerging strong and happy family life with the theme "Wake
Up and Read!"

❖ The National Book Trust conducts extensive publicity campaigns during the week, using newspapers,
banners, posters, and pamphlets to underscore the value of books. Sahitya Academies across the nation also
join in the celebrations, aligning with the National Library Week.
