IV. Rationale: The “Fire Safety Training” initiative at
Luis Aguado National High School is designed
to impart critical knowledge and skills for
addressing fire emergencies, thus elevating
the standard of our fire safety endeavors.
This effort plays a crucial role in protecting
the school community, by instructing them on
effective emergency response techniques and
promoting a culture of safety awareness. It
ensures adherence to fire safety regulations,
empowers individuals with vital information,
and aims to mitigate the risk of fire incidents,
contributing to the prevention of property
damage through proactive fire prevention
strategies.
V. Project Objectives: 1. Improve teachers and students’
knowledge about fire and raise
awareness on avoiding the main causes
of a fire, expand safety tips among
students in case a fire happens
suddenly.
2. Teaches students how to avoid fire
related injuries to increase the possibility
that the students will be more conscious
of fire emergencies.
3. Maintain the safety of each and every
student inside of the school and being
fully prepared in case something
happened unexpectedly.

VII. Project Guidelines: I. The Fire Safety Training Program will be led by
resource speakers from Bureau of Fire
Protection, Trece Martires City. (BFP-TMC).
II. The resource speakers will teach officers
from different organizations on what they
should and should not do when there is a fire.
III. Resource speakers will also teach all of the
officers on how to use fire extinguishers to put
out fire.
IV. Officers from different organizations are
required to participate in the actual process and
apply what they have learned during the
discussion.
VIII. Responsible Parties: To ensure that this project will be well-
managed, the School-based Disaster Risk
Reduction Management (SDRRM) together with
other school organizations – the Supreme
Secondary Learner Government (SSLG),
Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD), and Youth for
Environment in School Organization (YES-O)
and some of the teachers and head teachers will
be the one who’s going to handle this project.
The teachers together with the said parties
will manage the project so that the objectives
will be met. The collaboration they will do will
lead to a successful launch of the project and
bring safety and knowledge to the students of
Luis Aguado National High School.
IX. Target Beneficiaries: Proposing fire safety training in every school is crucial.
This kind of training can bring numerous benefits that
could equip the school community with essential life
skills and give them better awareness of handling
emergency situations.

In this project proposal, the target beneficiaries are


the following: teaching and non-teaching staff,
selected learners who will participate, and student
leaders in each organization of Luis Aguado National
High School, specifically the SSLG,
SDRRM, YES-O, and BKD.

a. Teaching and Non-Teaching staff


- By implementing this kind of training, head
teachers and other school staff may be able to fulfill
their duties of care while ensuring the parents that
the learners are safe.

b. Student leaders

- This proposal could benefit students by providing


an opportunity to enhance their leadership skills in
emergency situations. Their participation will greatly
help them achieve practical experience.

c. Selected participants

- The selected participants in this proposal could


benefit by gaining a sense of responsibility and
becoming role models for fire and safety awareness.

The above-mentioned target beneficiaries in this


project proposal will not just benefit themselves but
also create a safer learning environment.

X. Needed Resources
and Proposed Budget: 1. Educational Materials:

• Curriculum or Training Manual: A detailed guide


covering all aspects of fire safety, prevention, and
emergency response.

• Presentation Tools: PowerPoint slides, videos, and


other multimedia resources to facilitate learning.

• Handouts: Quick reference materials, brochures,


and flyers for participants to take home.

2. Fire Safety Equipment:

• Fire Extinguishers: For hands-on training in using


extinguishers on different types of fires (e.g., water,
CO2, dry chemical extinguishers)

3. Protective Gear:

• Gloves: To protect hands during practical exercises.

• Safety Goggles: To protect eyes from smoke or


extinguishing agents during demonstrations.

• Fire Simulators: Equipment that safely simulates

practical demonstrations.

• Evacuation Route Maps: To teach participants


about proper evacuation strategies.

• Signage: For identifying exits, assembly points, and


equipment locations during training.

XII. Project Deliverables: At the end of this project, all students are expected to
learn what to do in the event of a fire, how to put out a
fire when fire breaks out, and how to use a fire
extinguisher properly. This project aims to teach all
students to acquire basic knowledge about fire safety,
which includes an understanding of fire safety
principles and practices, identifying and managing
different types of fire, and proper emergency and
evacuation procedures in the event of a fire. This
training also aims, at the end of the program, to
increase the student’s readiness and alertness in the event
of afire emergency.
