A RESOLUTION ON THE RECOMMENDATION OF SGC TO ADDRESS ISSUE ON LITERACY AND

NUMERACY THROUGH SCHOOL READING PROJECT

WHEREAS, pursuant to DepEd Order No.026 s.2022, the SGC shall participate actively in the
formulation and implementation of the SIP and other DepEd programs, projects, and activities;
WHEREAS, the SGC shall attend pertinent school meetings and assemblies in which all sectors are
properly represented such as SIP formulation Conference, PTA Assembly and Stakeholder
convergence;
WHEREAS, the SGC shall recommend ways of improving the quality of basic education services and
school performance in school meetings which include ESIP Formulation Conference.
WHEREAS, the members of the SGC actively participated in the 3 rd Conference in ESIP Formulation
and gave recommendations and suggestions pertaining existing problems of the school;
WHEREAS, Hon. Elia Melendres suggested the formulation of new projects aligned to new identified
priority needs especially a project that can address the literacy and numeracy problems of the
learners;
WHEREAS, Hon. Alexander Docabo, being the Chairperson of the Committee on Education of LGU-
Maydolong and an SGC Voting member expressed his plan to provide MNHS with LGU-paid
teachers who will assist in the implementation of the reading programs of the school;
WHEREAS, Mrs. Jainiminni Tabinas, the Head of English department proposed the project title
Collabasa which aims to integrate reading not only in Language subjects but also in other learning
areas to help improve learners’ reading comprehension;

RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED THAT that based on the recommendations of the SGC,
the reading program Collabasa shall be initiated, spearheaded by the English Department with the
aid of LGU-paid teachers.

RESOLVED FURTHER THAT copies of this resolution be furnished to the respective offices of the
stakeholders for favorable action and copy be furnished to the office of the school head.
