Simret Mesfin, MD
Medical Director

Simret Mesfin is a medical doctor with specialization in Dermatovenereology. Dr

Mesfin graduated from Addis Ababa University in 2017. Since then she has served at
government hospitals, Jimma University, and St. Paul�s Hospital Millennium Medical
College as a lecturer, assistant professor and treating
physician � where she taught medical students and treated patients for three
years.

As a dermatologist, Dr. Mesfin became dedicated to the field of cosmetic

dermatology. So, she joined Zinnia Aesthethic & Anti-Aging Clinic in 2019 to begin
fulfilling her dreams of practicing aesthetic medicine. In April 2020 Dr. Mesfin
became the medical director of the clinic, devoting her full capacity to serving
the clinic � desiring to offer the best cosmetic and anti-aging treatments to her
patients.

Simret Birru, MD
Senior Medical Doctor

Simret Biru is a native of Addis Ababa. She graduated from school of medicine,
University of Gondar and trained in Dermatology and Venereology at School of
Medicine, College of Health Sciences, Addis Ababa University.

Dr Biru is a senior Dermatologist and Venerologist who has worked in various

governmental and private hospitals and clinics. She works, as well, at Federal
Police Referral Hospital as a Dermatologist and Venerologist, where she is head of
the Dermatovenerology department.

Simret also offers consults using a teledermatology infrastructure via a

telemedicine platform. She is one of the two medical practitioners in Ethiopia in
the area of Aesthetics part of Dermatology.

How Botox Works

Normal facial expressions � such as squinting, smiling, frowning or �worrying� �

cause the muscles in the face contract. Over time these natural contractions cause
permanent creasing in the skin � and lines, wrinkles and furrows develop in the
forehead and around the eyes, which get deeper with time.

Both Botox and Xeomin are in a class of drugs called �neurotoxins� that block the
nerve signals that control these muscle contractions. Without the nerves signalling
them to contract, the muscles stay in a relaxed position. As a result the lines,
wrinkles, furrows and creases between the eyes and eyebrows soften � and crow�s
feet are diminished.

The result is or a more youthful and refreshed appearance. Most patients report
that skillfully injected Botox takes ten or more years of their appearance. In
