Quarter 1
PART 2
For the preparation of the activity, a select group of students was chosen to discuss
and demonstrate the components of the HRF test. This preparatory session took place
a day before the actual HRF test was conducted. These students were tasked with
showcasing the practical aspects of the assessment, thereby providing their peers with
a clear understanding of what to expect.
During the HRF practicum, a crucial aspect was the evaluation of cardiovascular
endurance. To measure this, students began by recording their resting heart rates.
This baseline measurement was essential as it allowed them to gauge how their heart
rate changed during physical exertion. Subsequently, they performed the 3-minute
step test, a well-known method for assessing cardiovascular fitness. After completing
the test, students measured their heart rates once more to observe the immediate
effect of physical activity on their cardiovascular system.
To ensure the effectiveness of this activity, a group of selected students were once
again chosen to discuss and demonstrate the various components of SRF. This
preparation session took place a day before the SRF test was conducted. These chosen
students played a pivotal role in providing their peers with a clear and practical
understanding of what SRF entails.
During the SRF practicum, students were required to execute a range of tests, each
targeting specific aspects of skill-related fitness. These included standing long jump,
hexagon agility test, stick drop test, juggling, and stork balance stand test, in concern
to measure their power, agility, reaction time, coordination, and balance, respectively.
In line with the previous HRF practicum, students were provided with scoresheets
during the SRF assessment. These scoresheets served as valuable tools for students to
track and observe their performance in real-time as they engaged in the various skill-
related activities.
The HRF and SRF practicum was more than just a physical assessment; it was
a hands-on learning experience that encouraged students to actively engage with the
concept of health-related fitness. By participating in these practical activities, I have
gained a deeper understanding of the importance of cardiovascular endurance,
muscular strength, and flexibility in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, I
have gained a deeper understanding of the diverse components that contribute to
skill-related fitness. Moreover, the scoresheets empowered me to take ownership of my
fitness journey and set personal goals for improvement.
