Subject: A Project Proposal on The Creation of Lapu-Lapu City E-Scooter Travels and Services.

Content: Sir, the undersigned have the honor to propose the subject entitled “The Creation of

Lapu-Lapu City E-Scooter Travels and Services”. Hereunder are the details.
I. Background, Objective, and Justification

Transportation services include the movement of goods and services, people, and animals

by rail, road, air, and sea. It can be divided into three different areas; infrastructure, vehicles, and

operations. Transportation is important to the survival of a transportation and distribution

service. Transportation is a lifeline for millions of individuals connecting them to people, places,

and possibilities. It also builds thriving communities, creates jobs, eases traffic congestion, and

promotes a cleaner environment. Investment in public transportation spurs both local and the

national economy. Transportations consists of a Variety of Modes, including Buses, Light rail,

Subways, Commuter trains, Streetcars and trolleys, Cable cars, Vanpool services, Ferries and

water taus, Paratransit services for senior citizens and people with disabilities, and monorails and

tramways.

Online business is any kind of business activity that happens over the internet. Running

an online business can include buying and selling online or providing an online service. There

are many benefits to promoting your products and services online, such as: enhanced flexibility

in presenting items without the constraints of a physical store. Also, there’s a need to build and

maintain customer relationships when selling online; Creating a personalized experience for each

customer by looking for ways to make the online experience feel unique. Set clear expectations

on what customers can expect from your product and service, both the value and any constraints.

Giving details by providing customers step-by-step instructions for using your products

or accessing your services. Make sure your customer can get help from your business if needed,

and keep customers engaged by checking in regularly (e.g. by hosting online events or live

streaming.
 Traffic congestion has been one of Lapu-lapu City’s biggest problems as of late.

Although traffic has gone down since the start of the pandemic, that is not to say that the state of

traffic will not go back to the way things were after the pandemic. Aside from the increase of

travel time, traffic has also posed negative effects in terms of one’s productivity, as well as their

physical and mental health. In Lapu-Lapu City, both informal and formal sectors are affected by

traffic jams. Lapu-Lapu City has poor management and lack of technology to further assist them

in managing said traffic. Another notable weak point is their response to recurring and most

especially non-recurring congestion. Lapu-Lapu City’s geographical location is also another

problem to consider when trying to solve its congestion problem. The City of Lapu-Lapu is an

island and is one of the cities that make up Metro Cebu in the Philippines. It is geographically

located in the province of Cebu, administratively independent from the province, but grouped

under Cebu by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). Being such a small island with an ever-

increasing population, the number of vehicles also grows within time. In solving Lapu-Lapu

City’s congestion problem, it is imperative that we apply new and creative solutions to better the

city’s traffic situation. With regards to poor traffic management, the implementation of

technology could serve to benefit Lapu-Lapu City.

Electric scooters have become a symbol of modern urban transport; they’re common

sight in big cities such as Paris, Madrid, and San Francisco. Electric scooters are perhaps the

most portable mode of powered personal transport. E-Scooters are light and fold up, allowing for

easy storage and portability. You can simply put it along much like you would a small suitcase,

meaning you can take it virtually anywhere, and when the time comes, you simply unfold it and

you’re on your way. They only use a small amount of electricity and don’t emit any emissions,

which is better for the air quality in our cities and for the lungs of their residents. As a reliable,
affordable, and eco-friendly way of traveling, it doesn’t get any better than an electric scooter.

Every mode of transport comes with an element of risk. When you travel any faster than walking

pace, your risk of having an accident increases - even something as simple as tripping or

bumping into someone whilst jogging. Compared with other personal modes of transport, such as

cycling, roller skating, or using hoverboard, scooters are potentially the safer option. For one,

you can simply step off if your see an imminent collision occurring. This is something you can’t

do with bikes or roller skates, and you have immediate access to the brakes, which hoverboards

lack. Electric scooters are fast enough to be useful and fun to ride, but give enough control that

you feel safe and secure while riding. In the simplest terms, the throttle commands the scooter to

accelerate at a certain speed. Pressing the throttle sends a signal to the controller via cables. The

controller then instructs the battery to release more power to the motor. And finally, the motor

responds by propelling the scooter forward.

II. Project Implementation and Management Plan

A. Expected Project Results

First of all, researchers expect that traffic jams will be reduced through E-scooter. As

mentioned earlier, the E-scooter will be the easiest to carry among all transportation methods

because it has a small size suitable for one person to ride and can be folded and stored anywhere.

Therefore, it can reduce complicated traffic jams. Secondly, environmental pollution is expected

to be reduced. The E-scooter works in a different way than other transportations, such as

tricycles and motorcycles, which are widely used in the Philippines. As a method of charging

and using electricity, air quality can be improved and the environment can be clean by reliably

eliminating fumes. The E-scooter is a very eco-friendly means of transportation that can be used
with a very small amount of electricity. Researchers therefore look forward to seeing E-scooter

become a popular form of transportation in the Philippines.

III. Project Monitoring and Evaluation

Agent Management CEO

The general role of the Agent Management CEO is to oversee the strategic direction of E-

Scooter Travels and Services and has vast knowledge in transport methods, cost and benefits.

He/she analyzes the findings of the day-to-day operating activities and makes decisions

regarding the company's long-term strategies. After crafting the long-term vision, the CEO

together with his/her other executive leadership,will begin implementing those plans. He/she is

also responsible for the financial performance of the E-Scooter Travels and Services.

Head

The role of the Head of E-Scooter Travels and Services is to direct, coordinate, plan and

oversee tasks and daily operations within the company. he/ she is accountable for making sure

that the regulations for road transport of Lapu-lapu City are being followed.

Marketing Head

The marketing head is responsible for the sales and marketing for driving business

revenue performance and development of E-Scooter Travels and Services. Drive volume and

revenue growth to meet or exceed agreed targets of the department and to achieve revenue

targets. Forecast, analyze and design appropriate sales and marketing plans in all changes for

logistics industries. Consult customers to monitor the quality of service they are receiving.

Conducts one-on-one review with all subordinates to build more effective communication, to

understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of the

team sales and activity performance.

Finance

Finance is responsible for obtaining and handling all financial accounts on behalf of the

company. The department controls the income and expenditure in addition to ensuring effective

business running with minimum disruptions.

Logistics

Logistics are responsible for ensuring that the supply chain of E-scooter units is efficient

and effective throughout Lapu-lapu City. They organize and monitor the distribution of units to

ensure they reach to appropriate customers and destinations.

Human Resource

The Human Resource department oversees all aspects of employee interactions, including

salary and benefit negotiations, hiring new employees, and recruitment. They create and put into

action HR initiatives and strategies that are in line with the overall business plan. Improve ties

between management and employees by responding to requests, grievances, or other issues

Staff/ Employees

The role of the staff is to ensure that all e-scooter units are well-maintained and possess

the technical skills to troubleshoot, fix damaged units and replace its parts. They are also

responsible for collecting all rented units and monitoring its inventory. The staff are also

assigned in the storage facilities of e-scooter units.
