To whom it may concern

My name is Cathal Fahy and I have been trying different approaches to try to get my vessel into
survey or to be exempt from survey with no avail. The reason I cannot get it exempt is because it has
a petrol inboard motor. I have contacted different surveyors and been in contact with the AMSA
helpline a number of times and my last call with AMSA the representative advised me to send an
email to see if someone could help me.

The vessel itself is a Malibu Wakesetter 22MXZ registration AGX738N. I plan to use it commercially
on the Hawkesbury river for water sports and fun activities such as wakeboarding, knee boarding
and tubing. I have recently obtained my Coxswain NC1 license solely for the purpose of what I am
proposing. I started wakeboarding about 12 years ago in cable parks but have been around boating
doing these types of activities for the past 4 years.

The dimensions of my vessel are as follows:

Length – 6.7m

Beam – 2.54m

Draft – 0.69m

It has a 410hp engine.

What I wish to propose is to bring no more than 6 passengers at a time with me that would last
about 3 hours per trip. All passengers would be briefed on the safety measures on board the vessel
and shown to correctly use their lifejacket. Any person who is tubing/boarding will always be
wearing a 50S lifejacket and helmet. While any person Is being towed the speed of the vessel would
not exceed 25km/h. There is a large rear vision mirror in my vessel that allows me to have good
vision of the person being towed while also looking ahead for any oncoming vessels/obstructions.

I look forward to your response.

Regards

Cathal Fahy
