In Mathematics (Grade 7)

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
a. define relation and function;
b. B. illustrate a relation and a function;
c. C. determine if a given relation is a function using ordered pairs, graphs and
d. equations
e. define relation and function;
f. B. illustrate a relation and a function;
g. C. determine if a given relation is a function using ordered pairs, graphs and
h. equations
a. Identify and apply the properties of equality;
b. Find the solution of an equation involving one variable using the Properties of Equality; and
c. Relate Linear Equation in one variable in real life situation.

II. Subject Matter

Topic: Solving Linear Equations in one variable using Properties of Equality
Reference: Simplified Mathematics 7 pp. 229-235
Materials: Power point presentation, pictures and cartolina.

III. Learning Procedure

Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity

A. Preliminary

1. Prayer
May we all stand to feel the
presence of the Lord _____ kindly
lead us a prayer.
(In the name of the Father, of the Son,
and the Holy Spirit, Amen.)

2. Greetings
Good morning, Class!
Good morning, Sir.

Before you take your sit, kindly

arrange your chairs and pick up
those litters around you.
Then, you may now take your sit.
Thank you, Sir.

3. Checking of Attendance
Secretary who is absent today?
No one is absent Sir.

That’s good to hear class! Very

good
4. Review
Class what was our lesson
yesterday?
The lesson yesterday sir was about
linear equation and inequality.

Very good!
B. Motivation

Before we proceed to our new

lesson today, let’s play a game
entitled “Math Match-Up
Challenge”.
Instruction:
1. You will be group in to two.
2. In this game, players will be
presented with equations where
the numbers are missing. The
goal is to correctly fill in the
missing numbers to make the
equations equal. Test your
math skills and quick thinking
to solve equations within the
time limit!
3. You will be having 10 mins to
complete the equations.

IV. EVALUATION
Direction: Solve the given equations in column A then choose your answer in column B.
A B
1. x–4=8 a. 4
2. 4x + 7 = x – 8 b. 6
3. 2(x – 5) = 3(x + 2) – 10 c. -6
4. 4 = 3(3x – 2) – 4(2x – 1) d. -5
5. 36y - 24y = 48 e. 12

V. ASSIGNMENT
Direction Answer the following linear equation in one variable.
1. 27w-5= 49
2. 13x+10= 62
3. 8y -24= 16
