For your activity, I will divide the class into 4 groups by counting 1-4
starting with you Ms. Rona Mae. G-1 and 2 stay here, G-3 in this area
and G-4 at the back. Okay, form a circle and please move silently.

The activity is called "Buuin mo ako". I have here an envelope, inside it


there are pieces of paper you need to fix then, after that you will post
them on the board. Afterwards, you will identify it, by finding the names
and its uses inside this basket. The first group to finish will receive a
reward.

You have 2 minutes to finish the activity. The timer starts now!

Basic Baking Tools, Equipment and its Uses

Baking - process by dry heat, especially in some kind of oven.

Baking Tools – are the devices that can be used to achieve a task, but
not consumed in the process or it can be manipulated by hand.

Baking Equipment – is a larger and usually powered by an engine.

Baking Tools

1. Mixing bowl – comes in graduated sizes and has sloping sides.


It is used for mixing ingredients.
2. Measuring spoon – consist of a set of spoons with different sizes
for measuring small quantities of ingredients.
3. Measuring cups – they are used to measure dry and liquid
ingredients.
4. Strainer – is used to strain or sift dry ingredients.
5. Rubber scraper – is used to remove bits of foods on sides of the
bowl..
6. Spatula – comes in different sizes;
Small spatula – are used to remove muffins and molded
cookies from pans which is 5 to 6 inches.
Large spatula – for icing or frosting
7. Pastry bag – a funnel shape container for icing or whipped
cream.
8. Pastry tip – is a pointed metal or plastic tube to the opening of
the pantry bag is used to form desired designs.
9. Wire Whisk – is used to beat of whip egg whites or cream.
10. Baking pan – a metal pan placed in an oven and used for baking
pantries.

Baking Equipment
1. Weighing scale – is used to measure ingredients for accurate
measurements.
2. Electric mixer – is used for beating, mixing and blending.
3. Timer – is used to timing baked products, the rising of yeast
and to check the doneness of cakes.
Ovens – are the workhorses of the bakeshop and are essential for
producing the bakery products. Ovens are enclosed spaces in which
food is heated, usually by hot air.
F. Developing mastery Great job for participating in our discussion today class! Now, let’s see
how much you’ve learned about our lesson in basic baking tools,
