City of God

You should watch City of God it you want to learn about a real-life situation. Seeing it
at the cinema may not be a good idea because it can be seen as extremely long, due to
it lasts two hours and fifteen minutes. But don’t worry because it is impossible to take
the eyes off it.

It is about a real story which occurred in a favela of Rio de Janeiro. During the film, the
public will love watching the precious images and the real narrative. As it is based on
real facts, this movie can raise awareness about the situation of many people in the
Brazilian favelas.

The plot of the film would not be so good if the characterisation was not so impressive.
I am not talking about a perfect hero or villain, but the presence of a lot of different
characters who are related to each other by diverse circumstances. Sometimes they
are sanguinary, but they make the story interesting.

It is a good storyline with a perfect connected plot. It is too complex sometimes

because of the temporal changes it makes. But it is not difficult to watch.

The music based on typical Brazilian music genres accompanied the film very well and
it helps to create impact on the public.

Everybody must watch City of God, as it is a classic.

City of God

If (catches your attention) you are looking for an action-packed (adjectives) story and,
at the same time, a painstakingly accurate depiction (adjectives) of a real situation,
City of God is your film. Notwithstanding (connector) it can be considered extremely
long to be watched (passive voice) at the cinema, given that (instead of because or
due to which are more typical) it lasts two hours and fifteen minutes; it is so fast-
moving that it is impossible to take the eyes off it.

The plot (specific vocabulary) is about a real story which took place (although phrasal
verbs are normally considered informal, they can be used to avoid more simple verbs
in some situations) in a favela of Rio de Janeiro, where the film is set, so the setting is
life-like (adjective) and captivates the viewer perfectly. During the film, the audience
(public would be incorrect, we say audience or viewers) will be enchanted (passive
voice) by moving images and an intensely compelling (adjective) narrative. For
(instead of AS or because of the fact that) it is based on real facts, watching (making a
verb, a noun (deverbal noun because it comes from a verb) ) this movie can raise
awareness about the situation that many people deal with (phrasal verb) in the
Brazilian favelas.

Additionally (connector), the intriguing (adjective) plot of the film would not be so
spell-binding (adjective) if the characterisation was not utterly impressive (adjective).
It is not an enigmatic hero or the evilest villain that makes it so magnificent (cleft
sentence), but a plethora of (instead of a lot) very different characters bound together
(instead of related) by heart-breaking (adjective) circumstances. It is possible
(impersonal) to find some of them annoyingly pompous (adjective) and even too
bloody (adjective) during some scenes. However (connector) , all of them are witty
(adjective) and help to make the story engaging (instead of interesting).

Overall (connector), it is an exquisitely intricate storyline with a zealously detailed

and ingeniously woven (adjectives) plot. It can be considered (passive voice) too
complex for (instead of because of) the temporal leaps (instead of temporal changes)
that take place. However, nothing is further from reality (an expression that catches
the attention of the reader). It is not at all heavy going or slow-moving (adjectives).

Moreover (connector), the soundtrack (specific vocabulary) based on typical Brazilian

music genres accompanied the film absolutely flawless and it helps to create a greater
impact on the audience.

Taking everything into consideration, City of God should be considered a classic and
should be on the “must watch” list of everybody. It will not leave anyone indifferent
(a short sentence to conclude).
