REFLECTION

Everyone has different versions of past experiences. This explains why we

don't just judge why others behave in such a way. Like the unnamed
narrator's alcoholism in the story of 'the black cat'. Indeed, everyone has
their own approach of coping with life's stressors. However, not everyone
has the capacity to adopt healthy coping mechanisms.
Sometimes, the coping mechanism used just makes the dilemma worse, as
happened in the story with the unnamed narrator's murder of the cat,
which reflected his past traumas that were still haunting him. However,
even though not all of our past experiences have been delightful; we must
learn to recognize the beauty in every remnant of them. We may still take
lessons that will mold our character as we live our lives today and in the
future.
And, much like the unnamed narrator's destruction of all his possessions,
this may happen to anyone, which profoundly refers to coming home
empty-handed no matter how bountiful we were at first, when we don't
have real satisfaction and healing in our hearts. If we continue to oppose
"realities" in our lives, we will constantly be lacking and voided in the heart,
leading us to attempt to substitute it with other things in the world that will
never provide us with what we truly need. As a result, it is important that
we grant ourselves freedom by embracing our past experiences, and
utilizing them to better shape our present and future existence.
