Detailed Lesson Plan in Science V
Detailed Lesson Plan in Science V
I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard The learners demonstrate understanding of
a simple DC circuit and the relationship between electricity and
magnetism in electromagnets
B. Performance The learners should be able to Propose an unusual tool or device using
Standard electromagnet that is useful for home, school, or community
C. Learning The learners should be able to infer the conditions necessary to make a
Competencies/ bulb light up (S5FEIIIf-6)
Objectives

IV. PROCEDURE
ENGAGE 1. Review of previous lesson.
- Look at under your tables.
- What did you find?
- We found some pictures.
- What are those pictures?
- We found copper, aluminum, gold, metal, and silver.
- Glass, plastic, rubber, and wood.
- Those pictures are.?
- These are example of Conductors and Insulators.
2. Motivation
a. Let’s play a game.
b. Electrifying Game Show
Mechanics:
1. Group the learners into four to five.
2. Guess the object/s inside the box.
3. In answering fill in the missing letters to form the word/s
that describe the object.
4. Show to the class your answer.
5. The group who first raised their answer will get 1 point.
6. The group that has more points considered as winner.
Tell the learners to observe the given objects.
Ask:
1. Can you give the names of the objects shown?
- Bulb, wires, switch, and batteries.
2. What did you observe in the given objects?
- We observe that the given objects like bulb, wires,
switch, and batteries are commonly found in a circuit.
3. Based on the game we played can you identify the parts of
a circuit?
- The parts of a circuit are battery/batteries, wires,
bulb, and switch.
The source/batteries, wires, bulb, and switch these are the electrical
parts of a circuit.
Activity #1
What to do:
a. Identify the names of the objects.
b. Answer the guide questions.

Guide questions:
1. What will you form if you will combine these materials?
2. What are the uses of bulb, switch, wire and power source or
the battery?
3. What is an electric circuit?
Activity #2
What to do:
a. Arrange the picture to form a simple electric circuit.
b. Answer the guide questions.
Guide Questions:
1. What did you observe in the diagram?
2. What are the uses of bulb, switch, wire and power source or the
battery?
3. What is an electric circuit?
Guide Question:
1. What will you form if you will combine these materials
2. What are the uses of bulb, switch, wire and power source or the
battery?
3.What is an electric circuit?
ELABORATE Show to the class the house of appliances.
1. Observe the picture.
2. What did you observe in the picture?
- Answers may vary.
3. What appliances you see?
- TV, Radio, Refrigerator etc.
4. Pick the appliances that is using electricity to work.
5. How this appliance works?
- The appliances work through electricity.
Electric current
Is the flow of electrons along conducting wire, Electrons can be
transferred from one object to another through conductors like
metals.
Insulators prevent the flow of electricity such as plastic materials,
cloths, glass, and wood.
An electric current also needs a path along which it can travel.
1. SOURCE/BATTERIES
Source of Electricity
Symbol of Battery
2. SWITCH
Controls the flow of
Electricity from the
source. It is used to
turn on/off a load.
Symbol of switch
3. PATH/WIRE
The pathway of electricity
from the source to the load
Examples: Electric wires/
cords.
Symbol of Path/Wire
4. LOAD (BULB)
An appliance/device that
Uses electricity from a
Source.
Example: Light bulbs,
Computers.
Symbol of Load
Since, you already know the parts of electric circuit let us watch the video
carefully.
Ask:
Activity:
(Call 4 to 5 learners who can identify the parts of electric circuit in front
of the class using the actual electric circuit)
EVALUATE Directions: Identify the parts of a circuit, choose the correct answer from
the box.
