Q2. List three advantages of Instant Messaging, such as WhatsApp, over email.

Ans. Three advantages on instant messaging are:

1. Real-time communication
2. Informal and casual
3. Multimedia sharing

Let's get to learn about these advantages in brief:

1. Real-Time Communication: Instant messaging allows for immediate, back-

and-forth of conversations. When you send a message on WhatsApp, the
recipient typically receives and can respond to it instantly. This real-time
aspect is great for quick questions or discussions, making it more efficient for
fast-paced communication.

2. Informal and Casual: Instant messaging is supposed to be more casual and

less formal than email. We can use emojis, stickers, or GIFs to express yourself.
It's suitable for friendly chats and quick updates, making it feel more personal
than formal email communication.

3. Multimedia sharing, as an advantage of instant messaging apps like

WhatsApp, refers to the ability to send and receive various types of media or
content beyond just text. This includes:

Photos: You can share images and pictures with your contacts. For example, you can quickly
send someone a photo of a document, a funny meme, or a picture from an event you
attended.

Videos: Instant messaging apps allow you to send video clips. This is helpful for sharing
moments, giving visual instructions, or sharing video content with friends and family.

Audio Messages: The person can record and send short voice messages. This can be more
convenient for the person instead of typing out a long message, and it helps in adding a
personal touch to your communication.

Documents: Many messaging apps enable you to send documents and files, which is useful
for work-related discussions, sharing reports, or collaborating on projects.
GIFs and Stickers: You can use animated GIFs and stickers to add fun and expressions to
your messages, making the conversation more engaging and livelier.

Multimedia sharing enhances the communication experience, making it more versatile and
engaging. It allows you to convey information and emotions more effectively and is
especially beneficial for sharing visual or audio content quickly and easily with your
contacts.
