I‭n‬ ‭Anthropology,‬ ‭we‬ ‭look‬ ‭at‬ ‭our‬ ‭primitive‬ ‭past‬ ‭to‬ ‭try‬ ‭and‬ ‭explain‬ ‭our‬ ‭current‬ ‭behavior.‬ ‭A‬ ‭few‬ ‭of‬‭the‬
‭major‬ ‭questions‬ ‭that‬ ‭are:‬ ‭what‬ ‭are‬ ‭our‬ ‭human‬ ‭origins?‬ ‭What‬ ‭are‬ ‭the‬ ‭similarities‬ ‭and‬ ‭differences‬
‭between‬ ‭humans‬ ‭and‬ ‭other‬ ‭animals?‬ ‭Finally,‬ ‭what‬‭is‬‭culture,‬‭how‬‭can‬‭we‬‭learn‬‭from‬‭other‬‭cultures,‬
‭and how does culture effect our lives?‬

‭people‬‭think‬‭of‬‭Psychology,‬‭they‬‭often‬‭think‬‭of‬‭treating‬‭mental‬‭illness.‬‭Mental‬‭illness‬‭is‬‭a‬‭major‬‭area‬‭of‬
‭Psychology‬ ‭but‬ ‭other‬ ‭topics‬ ‭such‬ ‭as‬ ‭motivation,‬‭education,‬‭intelligence,‬‭development,‬‭relationships,‬
‭counselling,‬‭communication,‬‭parenting,‬‭memory,‬‭and‬‭advertising‬‭are‬‭just‬‭some‬‭of‬‭the‬‭other‬‭topics‬‭that‬
‭are covered.‬

‭influences‬‭and‬‭the‬‭power‬‭they‬‭have‬‭over‬‭us.‬‭Finally,‬‭Sociologists‬‭examine‬‭problems‬‭such‬‭as‬‭poverty,‬
‭racism, bullying, violence, family structure, gender, deviance, crime, justice, law, and politics.‬

‭research‬ ‭methods‬ ‭used‬ ‭by‬ ‭social‬ ‭scientists.‬ ‭Students‬ ‭will‬ ‭be‬ ‭given‬ ‭opportunities‬ ‭to‬ ‭apply‬ ‭theories‬
‭from‬‭a‬‭variety‬‭of‬‭perspectives‬‭to‬‭conduct‬‭social‬‭science‬‭research,‬‭and‬‭to‬‭become‬‭familiar‬‭with‬‭current‬
‭issues within the three disciplines. ‬
