How To Load Forecast From Legacy And From MRP Forecast Tables Into ASCP (Doc ID
762482.1)

In this Document

Goal
Solution

APPLIES TO:

Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning - Version 12.0 and later

Information in this document applies to any platform.

GOAL

How can we upload forecast data from an outside source and keep this data when running collections from ASCP as well?

This customer was running Data Collection in a complete refresh mode, which is erasing forecast data in the planning table
.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Upload Forecast date using Collections / Oracle Systems / Load Transaction Data using Self Service Loads (Or you
can use Load Transaction Data using Flat Files)
2. Verify data is collected >Advanced supply chain planner >View collected data
3. Run Data Collection in complete refresh mode
4. Verify data is collected >Advanced supply chain planner >View collected data - and find that loaded forecast data
was removed.

SOLUTION

IMPORTANT NOTES:

1. DO NOT use ATP Data Collections if you are running ASCP. ONLY use ASCP Collections.
2. When loading transaction data from legacy systems, then you must run your Data Collections with Complete
Refresh first, then load your legacy data.
3. IF you only use Data Collections in Targeted Refresh Mode - AND IF you do not have any forecasts in EBS Source,
then you do have option to load your forecast data before or after you run standard Data Collections. BUT if you
accidentally run with Complete Refresh any legacy data will be lost.

If you are loading forecast data from legacy, and also running Data Collections to collect forecast from the ERP source,
then you have two options:

1. Load Legacy data AFTER you have run Complete or Targeted refresh of data collections including forecasts.
-- Legacy loads always use Net Change load, and will not overwrite the ASCP Collected data.
OR
2. Load the forecasts into the ERP source tables using the MRP_FORECAST_INTERFACE table and planning manager
process will load into MRP_FORECAST_DATES. Then they will be collected along with the other forecasts created in the
applications.
-- this is recommended method for handing forecasts from multiple source (ERP and Legacy)
