How to Setup Planning Bill to Ensure Demantra Forecasts Explode Down to Member Items In ASCP Plan Runs?

SOLUTION

NOTE:

Please ensure the following setups have been performed.

1. Item Attributes on EBS instance

Navigation: Inventory > Items > Organizations Items
- Planning Method must be MRP or MRP/MPP planned for the Planning BOM AND all the member items.
- Forecast Control must be set to Consume And Derive for the Planning BOM AND all the member items.

2. Ensure that your Bill of Material for the Planning Bill is defined in the OM validation organization as defined by the profile
'MSC: Organization containing generic BOM for forecast explosion' on the EBS instance

3. Sourcing rules must be defined for the planning item and the components for EACH Region/Zone combination
Navigation: Purchasing > Supply Base > Sourcing Rules

For example, we have a Planning BOM defined as follows:

BF-FORD

BF-TAURUS (10%)
|
BF-MUSTANG (30%)
|
BF-EXPLORDER (60%)

And we have 3 Region/Zones, so 3 different sourcing rules need to be defined at the All Orgs level

Sourcing Rule Region Details

M1 Zone West US-West All customers in West region would generate planned orders for org M1
M2 East Zone US-East All customers in East region would generate planned orders for org M2
M3 Central Zone US-Central All customers in Central region would generate planned orders for org M3

3. After data is collected to ASCP, assign the sourcing rules to the Planning BOM (BF-FORD) and all it's member items (BF-
TAURUS, BF-MUSTANG, BF-EXPLORER) in the Assign Sourcing Rule form.

4. Ensure that the following Plan Options are set for your plan.
Navigation: Advanced Supply Chain Planner > Supply Chain Plan > Options
- In the Main tab of the Plan Options, the ‘Explode Forecast’ plan option must be checked.
- In the Organizations tab, under the Global Demand Schedule region, ensure that the Ship To Consumption Level matches
the Sourcing Rules - in this case, it must be set to Zone.
