DEVELOPING THE SAVINGS HABIT

Pr 6:6 - Pr 6:8 (NLT),

"Take a lesson from the ants, you lazybones. Learn from their ways and be wise! Even
though they have no prince, governor, or ruler to make them work, they labor hard all
summer, gathering food for the winter."

Jn 6:12 (NLT),
"Now gather the leftovers,” Jesus told his disciples, “so that nothing is wasted."

May kasabihan ang mga tagalog, "Ubos-ubos biyaya, bukas, nakatunganga."

Saving and conserving resources are taught in the Bible. "Now gather the leftovers so
that nothing is wasted." Maayo ni siguro ipilit sa aton mga kusina, ref, kag mga dining
tables.

- Don't waste God's resources!

(Explain the processes that the rice had undergone before they reach our tables - from
planting to our tables)

Ang siling sang ambahanon, "A man must break his back to earn his days of pleasure."
Indi ang kalipay dapat unahon... Indi bali mabudlayan sa primero...

- Consider contributing to your savings plan first each month .

Saving money is hard work. And the hardest part is simply getting started. If you're
beginning from scratch, consider this three-part strategy:

1. First put your money into a rainy-day fund.

2. Next save for long-range expenses.

3. Save for retirement.

- The following strategies can help you make this practice automatic:

1. Set up an automatic payroll Deduction. What you don't see, you won't
spend.

2. Set up an automatic bank transfer.

3. Invest all salary increases.

1
4. Invest lump sum payments.

YOU CAN BEGIN SAVING NOW!

Set saving goals. A real key here is that it forces you to think ahead...

Throw stumbling blocks in the path of spending. Most of us save too little because we
spend too much on impulse items. Control the urge to splurge. Keep a list of all the
things you really need... But wait to buy to buy until those items go on sale. If you're
drawn to something not on the list, give yourself a week to think it over.

Save all "extra" money.
