Each gram of cream contains Ketoconazole 20 mg
Description
Ketoconazole Cream contains ketoconazole 2%, a broad spectrum synthetic
antifungal agent and used topically.
Pharmacology
Pharmacodynamics
Ketoconazole is an antifungal of the imidazole group which has high and broad
spectrum antifungal activity. Imidazoles impair the biosynthesis of ergosterol,
which is a vital component of fungal cell membranes, resulting in increased cellular
permeability and consequently inhibit the fungal growth. At the concentrations
achieved with therapeutic dose, ketoconazole is fungistatic and is most effective
when fungal cells are actively growing. Ketoconazole inhibits the growth of the
following dermatophytes and yeasts: Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton
mentagrophytes, Trichophyton tonsurans, Microsporum canis, Microsporum
audouini, Microsporum gypseum, Epidermophyton floccosum, Candida albicans,
Candida tropicalis, Malassezia ovale (Pityropsporum ovale), dan Malassezia furfur
(Pityrosporum orbiculare). Ketoconazole cream overcome pruritus which is
commonly seen in dermatophyte and yeasts infections. The symptomatic
improvement is observed before the first sign of healing occur.
Pharmacokinetics
Ketoconazole is not absorbed systemically after topical administration.
Indications
Ketoconazole Cream is indicated for topical therapy of fungal infections on the skin:
- Tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea manus, tinea pedis caused by Trichophyton
rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Microsporum canis, and Epidermophyton
floccosum.
- Tinea (pityriasis) versicolor caused by Malassezia furfur.
- Cutaneous candidiasis caused by Candida spp (including topical application in
vulvitis).

Tiap gram krim mengandung Ketoconazole 20 mg
Deskripsi
Ketoconazole Krim mengandung Ketoconazole 2% yang merupakan antijamur
sintetik berspektrum luas dan digunakan secara topikal.
Farmakologi
Farmakodinamik
Ketoconazole adalah antijamur golongan imidazole yang mempunyai aktivitas
antijamur yang tinggi dan berspektrum luas. Imidazole bekerja dengan
mengganggu biosintesis ergosterol, yang merupakan komponen penting dari
membran sel jamur, mengakibatkan peningkatan permeabilitas seluler dan
akibatnya menghambat pertumbuhan jamur. Pada konsentrasi yang dicapai
dengan dosis terapi, ketoconazole bersifat fungistatik dan paling efektif saat sel
jamur sedang tumbuh secara aktif. Ketoconazole menghambat pertumbuhan
dermatofit dan ragi berikut ini: Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton
mentagrophytes, Trichophyton tonsurans, Microsporum canis, Microsporum
audouini, Microsporum gypseum, Epidermophyton floccosum, Candida
albicans, Candida tropicalis, Malassezia ovale (Pityropsporum ovale), dan
Malassezia furfur (Pityrosporum orbiculare). Ketoconazole krim dapat mengatasi
gatal yang biasanya terdapat pada infeksi dermatofit dan ragi. Perbaikan
simtomatik terjadi sebelum terlihat adanya tanda awal penyembuhan.
Farmakokinetik
Ketoconazole tidak diabsorpsi secara sistemik setelah pemberian topikal.
Indikasi
Ketoconazole Krim diindikasikan untuk terapi topikal infeksi jamur pada kulit:
-Tinea korporis, tinea kruris, tinea manus tinea pedis yang disebabkan oleh
Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Microsporum canis, dan
Epidermophyton floccosum.
- Tinea (pityriasis) versicolor yang disebabkan oleh Malassezia furfur.
- Kandidiasis kulit yang disebabkan oleh Candida spp (termasuk penggunaan
luar pada vulvitis).

Ketoconazole Cream is contraindicated for patients with hypersensitivity to

ketoconazole and any component of the drug. Kontraindikasi
Ketoconazole Krim dikontraindikasikan pada pasien yang hipersensitif terhadap
Dosage and Mode of Administration ketoconazole dan komponen obat ini.
Apply Ketoconazole Cream of the infected area 1-2 times a day, depending on the

- Tinea versicolor : 2-3 weeks - Tinea kruris : 2-4 minggu
- Cutaneous candidiasis : 2-3 weeks - Tinea pedis : 4-6 minggu
If there is no clinical improvement after 4 weeks of treatment, patient's diagnosis - Tinea versikolor : 2-3 minggu
