DESCRIPTION
MIDAS, the Sondex Multi-tasking Integrated Digital Acquisition System,
is a PC based logging system available as industrial 19" rack-mount
unit. The rack mount version has many duplicated hardware features
for reliability during operations. Running under Windows®, the system
can accommodate a variety of analogue, digital or pulse inputs and is
optimised for use with the full range of Cased Hole logging services,
Production Logging, Casing Inspection and Tractor operations.

Full control of the logs is available including simultaneous recording

and playback, curve merging, annotation, calibration, headers and
footers, graphic toolstring configuration, on screen Depth and Line
Speed etc. The software enables everything from a field print to a
presentation plot.

The PC basis allows the running of other standard software packages

without the need to transfer data to another computer.

Log output is to a high-resolution screen and a wide variety of thermal

film and paper plotting devices.

Archive logs can be recorded on DAT tape or CD-ROM.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE
Logging Tools signals from the Logging Panels, together with depth
information, are routed via the Universal Serial Bus to the PC. Data Example picture
from downhole tools is recorded and calibrated in real time to be
presented on-screen and plotted to a hard copy plotter.
