General Instructions :
1. Question paper consists of 34 questions divided into FOUR section, namely A, B, C and D.
(1) Section - A: Q. No 1 contains 8 Multiple choice type of question carrying two marks each.
Q. No 2 contains 4 very short answer type of question carrying one marks each.
(2) Section - B: Q. No 3 to Q. No. 14 are 12 question carrying two marks each out of which any
eight are to be attempted.
(1) Section – C: Q. No 15 to Q. No. 26 are 12 question carrying three marks each out of which
any eight are to be attempted.
(1) Section - D: Q. No 27 to Q. No. 34 are 8 question carrying four marks each out of which any
five are to be attempted.
2. Figures to the right indicate full marks.
3. Start each section on new page.
4. For each MCQ, the correct answer must be written along with its alphabet :

Q. 27 If three numbers are added their sum is ‘2’. If 2 times the second number is
subtracted from the Sum of first and third number we get ‘8’ and if three times
the first number is added to the sum of second and third number we get ‘4’. Find
the number using matrices.

Q. 29 Find p and q, if the equation p𝑥 2 − 8𝑥𝑦 + 3𝑦 2 + 14x +2y +q = 0 represents a pair


of perpendicular lines.

Q. 30 Using vector method, find the incentre of the triangle whose vertices are P(0, 2, 1), Q(-2, 0, 0)

Q. 31 There are two types of fertilizers 𝐹1 and 𝐹2 . 𝐹1 consists of 10% nitrogen and 6% phosphate.
Fertilizer 𝐹2 contains 5% nitrogen and 10% phosphate. After testing the soil conditions,
the farmer finds that he needs at least 14 kg. Of nitrogen and 14 kg. of phosphate for his crop.
Cost for 𝐹1 is Rs 12 per Kg. and that for 𝐹2 is Rs 10 per kg. Determine how much of
each type of fertilizers should be used so that the nutrient requirements are met at a
minimum cost. What is the minimum cost?

Q. 32 Minimize Z = 4𝑥1 + 5𝑥2 , subject to 2𝑥1 + 𝑥2 ≥ 7, 2𝑥1 + 3𝑥2 ≤ 15, 𝑥2 ≤ 3, 𝑥1 , 𝑥2 ≥ 0. Also ,


find the minimum value of Z.

Q. 33 The sum of three numbers is 6. If we multiply third number by 3 and add it to the second
number we get 11. By adding first and third numbers we get a number which is double the second
number. Using this information, find a system of linear equations. Find these three numbers using
matrices.

Q. 34 Give an alternative arrangement for the following circuit, so that the new circuit has two switches only.
Also , draw simplified circuit.
