Stocks of gypsum panel products shall be stored supported evenly on a firm, dry, level, and structurally sound floor. Stocks of gypsum panel products shall be limited to a maximum height of 17 feet (5 m). Gypsum panel products shall always be stored flat. Gypsum panel products shall not be stored in areas of excessive humidity nor shall they be stored beneath overhead equipment which may have a tendency to drip grease, oil, or water. Exposure of gypsum panel products to rain and other high moisture levels may result in water stains, discoloration, mold, and sag. This sensitivity of most gypsum panel products to adverse moisture conditions requires that gypsum panel products NOT be stored outdoors without complete protection from the weather. The plastic covering provided for product protection during shipment on rail flatcars or flatbed trucks is not suitable for storage of the gypsum panels and shall be removed upon arrival at the destination prior to warehouse storage. Failure to remove this plastic covering can result in damage to the gypsum panels due to moisture, condensation, wet product, and/or mold. Framing members shall be located within the building envelope and shielded from direct contact with moisture from the ground and outdoor climate. Ceiling heights of values areas shall be marked based on the benchmark provided by KIC. For the wall (pipe chase), mark the distance according to the size of the pipe chase 3. Frame Work: a. Ceiling: From the datum the ceiling level is marked and the wall angle is fixed Position of the ceiling hangers are marked at 1200 mm centers both directionally. Hangers will be fixed on the structural soffit as per the approved shop drawing along the main carrier/channe! Hanger spacing shall not exceed 1200mm The bottom of the hanger is fixed to the carrying channel by using self-tapping screws. To the carrying channels the furring channels are fixed perpendicularly at 600 mm centers. The furring channels are fixed by using self-tapping screws. The bottom level of the furring will be level of the wall angle fixed. KHONAINT INTERNATIONAL COLD, SSABIC ROUSING PROJECT ALJAAR, YANBU & & KONI INTERNATIONAL CO.-TD, : 7 SABIC HOUSING PROJECT AL JAAR, YANBU b. Wall: ‘* From the provided concrete upstand for the pipe chase measure the required approved distance on both ends mark with chalk line for the position of the bottom runner. Project 90 degrees up to the ceiling level to position the top runner. © Fix the bottom runner and Top runner. ‘* Cut stud to a neat fit into the required height of the wall, * Locate the studs into the runner as marked spacing (verify as per approved drawing), twist into position and fixed with self-tapping screw. * Locate and fix the stud bracket or support * Fix the horizontal runner at 600 mm spacing starting to the bottom channel by self- tapping screws, * Stud partition wall must fit or coincide to the dimension of gypsum board to be installed in this manner; we can avoid cutting the board. = Inspection and Testing Upon completion of framework, respective areas shall be offered for KIC and SABIC PMT inspection. inspection request will be raised. Framing system shall be inspected together with the block-outs for electrical & mechanical items prior to installing of gypsum board. Provide a MEP clearance and there should be hold points before next activities, 5. Installation of Gypsum board: * For wall, install board vertically & provide board length which will minimize end joints. * For ceiling. The gypsum board is fixed to the framing by staggering adjacent layer of the boards and perpendicular to the furring channel. * Install exposed gypsum board with face side out. Do not install imperfect, damaged or damp board. After attaching one board to frame fix it by screwing using powered screw driver. The gap or space between boards is not more than 1.5 mm. * Do not place tapered edges against cut edges or ends. * Maximum spacing of fasteners for gypsum board to be 400 mm. * For the required opening for electrical work, mark the board using pencil on the actual dimension of opening &cut it using cutting machine. KHONAIN] INTERNATIONAL.CO.LTD, SABICHOUSING PROJECT AL JAAR, YANBU & KIONAIN1 INTERNATIONAL COLTD, 8 SABIC HOUSING PROJECT ALJAAR, YANBU * Completed work should not be more than 1.5 mm difference at joints, not more than 3 mm in deviation from true plane, plumb level. 6.
