APTEL Order dated 20.02.2024 in APL No 337 OF 2023 & IA No 531 OF 2023

M/S Tata Steel Ltd argued for exemption from RPO obligations for their captive co-generation plant,
but OERC ruled in Case 71/2022 in Order dated 01.02.2023 that they must comply with RPOs under
the 2021 Regulations, emphasizing the importance of promoting renewable energy and statutory
compliance. APTEL upheld OERC judgement.

APTEL Order dated 20.02.2024 in APL No 403 OF 2022

Bharat Feeds and Extractions Limited (engaged in manufacturing cattle feed and poultry feed )
challenged the Madhya Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission's order, seeking reinstatement of
its tariff category , quashing of demand notice from MP Discom, and bill revision, with the Tribunal
later invalidating the bills and demand notice, setting aside the Commission's order, and allowing the
discom to take fresh action following principles of natural justice as the agreement between Bharat
Feeds and Extractions Limited and MP Discom needs to be amended to change the Tariff Category of
Bharat Feeds and Extractions Limited.
