VI. Installation Procedure


Installation procedure for
Back cover
[FD-501 + MFP 105ppm series]
1. Turn the machine’s Sub and Main switches OFF,
and unplug the power cord.
2. Install the Installation plate/1 (2 places), the
Installation plate/2, and the Installation plate/3 on
the left side of the machine as below. (TP screw
M4x6: 8 pcs.)
Note:
For the Installation plate/2 and the Installation
plate/3, use the screw holes without the engraved 15BMIXE034SA

marking “FS503.”
5. Turn OFF DIP SW2.
Note:
• This procedure is required because by
default it is set for a COLOR MFP 65ppm
series.(Factory default of SW2: ON)
• Do not change other switches.

Note:
• Be sure to prepare the main tray separately.
• When installing the main tray, hook the main
tray guide holes to the four auxiliary metal
hooks and secure the tray.

8. Connect the jumper connector to the CN-19.


Note:
Unless the jumper connector is connected, the
ISW cannot be performed.

9. Installing trays.
(1) Install the main tray detection short connector.
• Remove the short connector from the clamp.
• Connect the short connector to the main tray Sub tray

13. Perform a software update (ISW).


For ISW procedures, see the service manual.
Note:
15BMIXE018SA The software is designed for the COLOR MFP
65ppm series, so be sure to run it.

position or angle of the front cover. If the actuator
does not turn the interlock switch ON, adjust the
position of the actuator adjustment plate as well.
