1. What is the structure and origin of the earth?

- The mantle, outer core, inner core, and continental and oceanic crust make up the
layers that make up the structure of the stratified planet Earth. It was formed by
collision in the early solar system 4.6 billion years ago. The layered structure,
with lighter components on the outside and heavier materials inside, was created
by the differentiation process. Plate tectonics, which is fueled by mantle
convection currents, is a component of Earth's dynamics. The magnetic field is
produced by the molten iron-nickel composition of the outer core. The solid iron-
nickel inner core is incredibly heated. Geological processes including weathering,
erosion, and volcanic activity are all part of Earth's continuous evolution.

2. Why is understanding the structure of the earth very important?

- Addressing everyday problems like resource management, environmental
concerns, and natural disasters requires an understanding of the Earth's structure.
It also advances scientific understanding and investigation, which is advantageous
for Earth science theory as well as application.
