1. You can choose from the following list of suggested topics: 1.5 pts
The assignment (PDF file) should consist of at least 10 pages and at most 15 pages. All
generated files must be submitted for the examination.
(a) Complex numbers – An introduction.
(b) The European Union1 : EU law – EU treaties, legislation, case-law, how EU law is made
and applied.
(c) A pre-academic topic of your choice.
The document class to be used is the class report. Parameters of this class are font size 10 0.5 pts
and a layout for 2-sided output.
2. Initialize a table of contents, a table of figures and a table of tables. Three different levels of 1 pt
structure shall be used in the document. The table of contents itself shall have a maximum
of two structure levels.
3. Create three different and independent environments for lists. Define in preamble a itemize←- 1 pt
environment that creates a red diamond symbol for individual list items.
4. Create at least one table, which is highlighted in the row of the table header (background 2 pts
color cell/row). Reference this table in the text.
5. Include three figures in your report. Two images shall be combined as partial images into 2 pts
one total image - and a caption. Reference to the complete figure from within the text. A
third figure shall be used to create a figure wrapped by your text. Reference to the figure
from within the text.
6. Include a list of references. This list must contain at least two citations. Reference to the 2 pts
literature sources from within the text.
