 In-Conduit Hydropower Plant With Axial Turbine and Magnetic
Transmission

Filed February 4, 2019 US 62/800682

This design of an in-conduit hydropower plant uses a contact-free, magnetic

transmission to eliminate the need for mechanical seals which allows for a more
robust power generation system. The use of a magnetic transmission in this design
eliminates the need for mechanical seals which inherently add friction and have a
limited life. With the use of permanent magnets attached to the reaction axial turbine
rotor within a conduit, the rotational energy of the turbine can be transmitted through
the…Show more

 Modular Magnetic Gearbox with Clawed Pole Magnetic Field

Modulation

Issued December 11, 2018 US 92/777926

The modular design of a magnetic gearbox involves different end plate configurations
which allow for varying gear ratios within the gearbox very similar to commercially
available, small-scale gearboxes. Within the modular design, disassembly required for
changing configuration requires minimal effort in contrast from larger magnetic
gearboxes. The different configurations of the modular gearboxes share all of the
same components excluding the end plates which allow the same gearbox to have…
