1 OBJECTIVE

The objective of this method statement is to ensure, that all processes of Glass fiber reinforcement
concrete works for external façade of building are done systematically and correctly in
accordance with GRC works requirements mentioned in the contract no package BP#3
construction of parcel 4.

2 SCOPE

This procedure provides a method statement for executing of GRC works in order to achieve
compliance with contract specifications and drawing.
Applicable to cover the requirement for GRC works that included cornices, fixation.
Solid shall furnish all labors, materials, equipment's, executing the plaster works including
inspecting materials (i.e. grc cornices, anchors, bolts and accessories), proper storing, cleaning,
surface preparation, surveying, install accessories, mixing mortars. Apply cement plaster till
finish coat, curing plaster work and taking all safety precautions. All as indicated on drawings
and specifications.

4 PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• A full and detailed description of the roles and responsibilities of all (Solid
Constructions) staff is included within the Project Quality Plan.

5 QUALITY ASSURANCE

• Sequencing and Scheduling: solid shall execute the work in this section carefully
and coordinate with the work of other sections to prevent damage to other works.
• Applicator Qualification: Solid shall specify a qualified applicator that is
authorized, approved or licensed to install plaster works.

• Testing: Solid shall apply all materials used. Comply with the requirements of the
referenced standards when tested in accordance with the method indicated. And
will perform all such test at its own expense. All sampling and testing shall be
performed in a testing laboratory acceptable to the engineer. As per Egyptian
Standards Specifications (E.S.S).

7.1 Erection:
• Install clips, hangers and other accessories required for connecting GFRC units
to supporting members and backup materials.

• Install GFRC units level, plumb, square and in alignment. Provide temporary
supports and bracing as required to maintain position, stability and alignment of
units until permanent connections are completed.

• Connect GFRC units in position by bolting or welding or both, as indicated on


shop drawings. Remove temporary shims m wedges and spacers as soon as
possible after connecting is completed.

• A bolted connections use lock washers or other acceptable means to prevent


loosening of nuts.

7.2 Cleaning and Protection:

• Perform cleaning procedures, if necessary, according to GFRC manufacturer’s


written instructions. Clean soiled GFRC surfaces with detergent and water,
using soft fibre brushes and sponges and rinse with clean water. Prevent
damage to GFRC surfaces and staining of adjacent materials.

• Remove and replace damaged GFRC units when repairs do not comply with
requirements.

• Sealant is applied between joints of panels keeping backer rod strictly.

9 SAFEFTY

• Conditions and precautions listed in the project specifications shall be


followed as minimum.
• All staff involved in the project shall be inducted on the safety, health and
environmental issues associated with the work.
• Only trained personnel with relevant experience shall be allowed to handle
machinery.
• Appropriate Safety Signboards, barriers and lighting and other safeguards
shall be provided as required by the nature of and location of the works. All
operations shall be carried out in accordance with the safety requirements.
• All field personnel will use PPE safety requirements like safety shoes,
helmets, cover all, dust mask, etc. as required.
• Safety requirements will be addressed in accordance with the Project General
Safety Plan.
• Barricade the casting area with warning tapes and install Safety signs and
notices to create Safe Working area.
• Concrete pump shall extend their out riggers fully during pouring of concrete,
Pumps discharge hose shall be properly connected & bearing pad to be placed
below the wheels of pumps at the time of pouring.
• Tools and equipment will be inspected periodically by the Contractor to
ensure that remain in proper working order and calibration certifications is
current.
• During night works, a suitably trained supervisor will be on site for the full
night duration and adequate lighting shall be provided.

• All the safe practices will be adopted during the construction of concrete
foundation.
• Special work permits, wherever required, shall be obtained before
commencing work.
• Proper access for the labor and equipment shall be provided for the works.
• All machinery shall be checked for maintenance records.
• The site shall be cleaned from all the debris, steel waste, nails etc.
