Service Information Subject: Improvements in Pressure Transducers,

Water Temperature Sensors, Water Box Gaskets and
YK Oil Charge

General:
Pressure transducers, water temperature sensors and water box gaskets have been improved to
increase reliability. And the oil charge of some YK chillers has been optimized.

Pressure Transducers:
Previously, there were some reports from field that pressure transducers readings fluctuated in a
large range, causing false alarm to system. A design improvement has been introduced on pressure
transducer to increase stability. Below are the new features of the new pressure transducer:
 Add a throttling damping plug.
 Decrease the frequency response.

The new pressure transducer is interchangeable with the old one.

Water Temperature Sensors:

I. YK, YR & YS
New type of water temperature sensor has been used on new products of YK, YR and YS units since
August, 2013.

Main changes are as follows:
1. The outer diameter of sensor head decreases fromφ 9.8 toφ 6. Its bottom and wall are integrated.
2. Internal chip is imported. Its specification and model are different from previous ones.
3. Heat-shrinkable sleeve is adopted as protection between copper shell and the wire.
4. A chemical is applied at AMP connector end as protection between the wire and protecting bush.
5. The inner diameter of nylon cable gland becomes small, making the gland to lock more tightly with the
protecting bush.
6. The inner diameter of thermo well changes from φ 12 intoφ 9.
The new water temperature sensor can take the place of old water temperature sensor, but the nylon cable
gland needs to be replaced simultaneously. It is unnecessary to replace the thermo well.
The new thermo well does not match with old water temperature sensor. The P/N of new thermo well is

 092W14052-000. The P/N of old thermo well is 026W32328-000.

II. YEWS
The water temperature sensor for YEWS has also been improved since August, 2013.
Below are main changes:
 Heat-shrinkable sleeve is adopted as protection between copper shell and the wire.
 A chemical is applied at AMP connector end as protection between the wire and protecting bush.
 The wire gets thicker.
There are no changes in the size of thermo well and the size of sensor head.

The new water temperature sensor is interchangeable with the old one.

Water Box Gaskets:

To fix water leakage problem, a new kind of water box gasket has been developed to substitute for
previous gasket 028W09951-XXX on the circumference of 150 Psig water box. This kind of gasket is
028W16118-XXX. Compared with 028W09951, it has two characteristics:
 Integrally sulfurized
 70 Shore "A" hardness

Notes:
The new water box gasket is only for 150 Psig of standard and marine water boxes and it only
means the gasket on the circumference of water box. The gaskets on pass division plate, for 300 Psig
water box and for heat recovery water box do not change.

Oil Charge for YK Chillers:

The oil charge of some YK chillers has been optimized.
For Q3~Q7 compressors, the oil charge increases from 10 gallons to 11 gallons. For P8, P9 and H9
compressors, the oil charge decreases from 20 gallons to 17.5 gallons.
Accordingly, two kinds of “K” oil packs are added. They are:
