How is Antler different from accelerators
and other Venture Capital investors?
Antler is a Venture Capital Investor with
elements of an accelerator. The core
difference is that we invest into your
company before a typical accelerator
would, and we continue to invest in later
rounds and work with you over many years
in the future as most VCs would do.
Our initial focus is on helping to build
strong co-founding teams and afterwards
help them succeed in founding and scaling
great companies. We help entrepreneurs
from day zero – before the company is
founded. Participants who join Antler’s
cohorts have the opportunity to join
accelerator programs after Antler.
What does a typical day look like?
The initial weeks are geared to help you
identify your Co-Founder and introduce you
to highly relevant ecosystem players.
Our Co-Founder matchmaking process is a
mix of networking events, but also team
challenges and sprints with our industry
partners, who also facilitate great problem
statements. Once you have identified your
Co-Founder and an initial idea, you test
and iterate your startup hypotheses in
combination with dedicated coaching
sessions with the Antler team and our
advisors.
Is this a full-time commitment?
Yes. Please consider your current notice period,
plus the personal and financial investment starting
a business requires. We advise you not to work
on side projects. You might have obligations, and
depending on the situation, we do offer flexibility.
How will content be delivered?
The Antler cohort runs in person at one of our
nordic offices where you will have plenty of space
to work and collaborate.
What kind of Co-Founders will be in the cohort?
We take great care in building a cohort with the
right balance of skills, industry expertise,
personas & personalities, and experience.
We bring together highly motivated, open-minded
individuals each with their own expertise. Mainly
they can be clustered in 3 different profiles:
business, tech and industry experts.
Do I need an idea to join Antler?
No, you don't. Some Founders have a clear idea
of what they want to build, however, most join us
only with areas of interest and expertise. In any
case, your first few weeks will be spent on
identifying problem statements, validating your
solution and connecting with the right
Co-Founders.
Can I join Antler when I already have a team?
Yes, you can still join us even if you’re already
working on an idea and already have a team. In
fact, you might be able to receive an investment
already after 4-6 weeks, depending on how far
you’ve already gotten. Please speak to us in detail
in your next interview if this applies to you.

How big are the teams?
Most teams consist of two or three
Co-Founders, but some also have 4
Co-Founders. Antler does typically not
invest into Solo-Founders.
Can I bring in a friend of mine as a
Co-Founder?
Yes! In fact, many of the Founders in our
cohorts are referrals from previous Antler
Founders. However, we would like to get
to know your potential Co-Founder before
he/she joins the cohort alongside you.
How many founders are in the Nordics
cohort?
We are aiming at 140-150 Founders
across Stockholm, Copenhagen, and Oslo
- approximately 45-50 Founders in each
location.
Is there a compensation during the 12
weeks?
Every Founder joining our cohort receives
a grant of €1,500 and an additional €1,000
if you have to relocate to one of our Nordic
locations. Needless to say that you will
need to have some personal runway to
take on this journey. Building a startup is
risky and we want to see your commitment
and that you are aware of this risk already
when you join our cohort.
If you receive an investment at our
Investment Committee, you will be able to
pay yourself a small salary, which will
increase as you continue to fundraise.

What are the investment terms?
After 12 weeks Antler invests €150k for a 10%
equity stake in each company that is selected by
our investment committee. Each funded company
pays the Antler fee of €50k for participation on the
platform. Therefore the net total cash injection is
€100k.
Can I negotiate terms and conditions?
No. Antler’s terms are founder-friendly and
designed to streamline future fundraising. Antler's
terms are standard across our Nordic locations.
Any investment after the initial Antler investment
will be different and subject to new terms, also
depending on the negotiations with your next
investors.
Can I raise from other investors while working
with Antler?
As Antler will commit its total resources to help
you find your Co-Founder(s) and launch your
business, we require exclusivity for six months
from the start date of the cohort. During this time,
we ask that you are honest and transparent with
us about any conversations with other investors.
If Antler decides not to invest into your startup,
you are free to raise from any investor.
What happens if I don’t get investment?
Antler Nordic will provide feedback on any
investment decision, and it may be that it's only
the first "no" you receive. You can pursue your
idea and may secure investment from us down
the line.
