Course Name ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE

Course Credits 3 units

Course Description The course aims to develop a comprehensive understanding of the natural world, human impact on the environment, and strategies
for sustainable development and conservation. Students will explore topics such as ecosystems, biodiversity, climate change,
pollution, resource management, and environmental policy.

Course Outcomes Upon completion of this course, the student will demonstrate basic knowledge in the following:

Program Educational Objectives and Relationship to the Mission

4 years after graduation, the graduate of the BS in Computer Science Program shall have:
1. Apply knowledge of computing fundamentals, knowledge of a computing specialization and mathematics, science and domain knowledge
appropriate for the computing specialization to the abstraction and conceptualization of computing models from defined problems and requirements.
2. Identify, analyze, formulate, research literature and solve complex computing problems and requirements reaching substantiated conclusions using
fundamentals principles of mathematics, computing sciences, and relevant domain disciplines.
3. An ability to apply mathematical foundations , algorithmic principles and computer science theory in the modeling and design of computer based
systems in a way that demonstrates comprehension of the tradeoffs involved in design choices.
4. Knowledge and understanding of information security issues in relation to the design , development and use of information systems.
5. Design and evaluate solutions for complex computing problems and design and evaluate systems , components or processes that meet specified
needs with appropriate consideration for public health sand safety, cultural , societal and environmental considerations.
6. Create , select, adapt and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern computing tools to complex computing activities, with an
understanding of the limitations to accomplish a common goal.
7. Function effectively as an individual and as a member or leader in diverse teams and in multidisciplinary settings.
8. Communicate effectively with the computing community and with society at large about complex computing activities by being able to comprehend
and write effective reports, design documentation , make effective presentations and give and understand clear instructions.
9. An ability to recognize the legal, social , ethical and professional issues involved in the utilization of computer technology and be guided by the
adoption of appropriate professional, ethical and legal practices.

student is required to advise the instructor on such so that arrangements can be made for any make up work. Although, attendance per se is not gi ven a grade equivalent, it will have a
bearing on participation in class activities and/or group presentations that will be graded. A student who miss a class is responsible for the lessons taken up and are not excused on any
work assigned for a particular class session.
Submission of Assessment Tasks (Student Outputs)
Should be on time; late submittal of coursework’s will not be accepted, or where there is a valid justification, its acceptance is upon the faculty discretion subject to reasonable grade
penalties.
Major Examination (Long Quiz or major exams)
Will be administered as scheduled. No special exam will be given unless with a valid reason subject to the approval of the Dean of the College.
Course Portfolio
Is required and will be collected at the end of the semester. Lost documents will not be given due credit.
Language of Instruction
Lectures, discussion, and documentation will be in English except Filipino subjects.
Academic Integrity
Cheating during examination, copying another student’s assignment & report, submission of reports copied from other sources/materials (plagiarism) are strictly prohibited. Anyone
caught guilty of any or all of these violations will be sanctioned according to what is provided for in the Student’s Handbook.
Wearing of prescribed uniform and ID/ Dress and Grooming Codes
Wearing of the official prescribed uniform and ID inside the University must be strictly observed from Monday to Thursday. Fridays and Saturdays are considered wash day, thus,
proper dress code and grooming is a requirement.

Any form of disrespect to your teacher or to others will not be tolerated and is meted corresponding sanction.
