Division Quarterly Assessment

The Division Quarterly Assessment (DQA) is a summative assessment that is administered to all
Grade 10 learners in the Philippines at the end of each quarter. The DQA is used to measure
learners’ academic performance in the core academic subjects.

The DQA is a valid and reliable assessment that is aligned with the BEC. The DQA results are used
to provide feedback to learners, teachers, and school administrators. The DQA results are also
used to inform the development of educational programs and policies.

Academic performance is the level of success that a learner achieves in a particular subject.
Academic performance is influenced by a variety of factors, including the learner’s ability,
motivation, and access to quality education.

DQA results can be used to identify learners who are struggling in Science and who need
additional support. The DQA results can also be used to track learners’ progress in Science over
time.

Science would be valuable because it would provide information about the effectiveness of the
DQA as an assessment tool. The study would also provide information about the factors that
influence Grade 10 learners’ academic performance in Science.
The results of the study could be used to improve the DQA and to develop more effective teaching
and learning strategies for Science. The results of the study could also be used to identify learners
who are at risk of failing Science and who need additional support.
