DIVISION QUARTERLY ASSESSMENT IN RELATION TO GRADE 10 LEARNER’S IN

ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE IN SCIENCE OF BNHS S.Y.2022-2023

Science is a guide to the world around us. It is a never-ending quest for knowledge, fueled by

curiosity and a desire to understand. Science is a rigorous process, but it is also rewarding, as it

allows people to solve problems, develop new technologies, and improve our lives.

The DQA is a standardized test that is administered to all public school students in the

Philippines at the end of each quarter. It is designed to assess student learning in the core

subjects of English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.

Academic performance is a measure of how well a student is doing in school. It can be

measured by grades, test scores, or other indicators

This research will help to investigate the relationship between division quarterly assessment

(DQA) and grade 10 learners' academic performance in science of Baclayon National High

School.

There is a growing body of research that suggests that there is a positive relationship between

standardized test scores and academic performance. For example, a study by the National

Center for Education Evaluation and Regional Assistance found that students who scored higher

on the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) were more likely to graduate from

high school and attend college.

Previous studies have shown that DQA can have a positive impact on student learning

outcomes. For example, a study by the Department of Education found that students who

performed well on DQA were more likely to pass their science exams. However, other studies

have shown that the relationship between DQA and student achievement is complex and may

be influenced by other factors, such as teacher quality and student motivation.

The findings of this research will have important implications for educational policy and practice

and it will also help to better understand the relationship between DQA and student

achievement in science. The research will help to determine the extent to which DQAs are a

valid and reliable measure of student achievement in science. The research will also identify

factors that influence academic performance in science. This information can be used to

develop interventions to improve student achievement in science. This study aims to investigate

the relationship between the Division Quarterly Assessment (DQA) and the academic

performance in Science of Grade 10 students in Baclayon National High School and this could be

used to improve the design and implementation of DQA, and to provide teachers with better

insights into how to help their students succeed.

This research will be conducted among grade 10 students in Baclayon National High School. The

research will use data from the school's DQA scores and academic performance records. The

research will also collect data on student demographics and other factors that may be related to

academic performance in science, such as socioeconomic status and parental involvement.

This study is linked to broader goals of improving student learning outcomes and ensuring that

all students have access to a quality education. The findings of this study could help to improve

the design and implementation of DQA and will help to better understand the relationship

between DQA and student achievement in science, which could lead to improved student

achievement in science.

Overall, this research is significant because it will help to better understand the relationship

between DQA and student achievement in science in the Philippines. The findings of this study

could be used to improve the design and implementation of DQA, and to provide teachers with

better insights into how to help their students succeed.
