I. BACKGROUND

Deli restaurant is involved in preparing and serving food and drinks to customers.
Customers would physically go to the restaurant, make an order of their choice
and wait for it to be prepared before being served. Preparation will take 15-20
minutes thereafter customers will either eat on the premises or take the food
with them.
II. PROBLEM STATEMENT.

It is a natural thing for human beings to feel fatigued because of all the day-to-day
activities. Having to gather the little energy one has in order to go to the
restaurant which varies in distance seems to be unfair. And not only does one
have to go to the restaurant, but also wait before their food is served. This might
be a reason that people use to cook a meal at home despite having a long day.
With no system in place, Deli restaurant does not have a menu online. People
who are new to the area might not know of the restaurant’s existence making the
marketing of the place difficult. In short, Deli restaurant needs an online food
ordering system in order to adapt to the present world.
III. PROPOSED SOLUTION.

With the online food ordering delivery system that I am coming up with, will serve
a great advantage for both the restaurant and customers. The system will allow
customers to order food wherever they are, maybe at the office or at home by
just going to the Deli restaurant website online and choosing what is in the menu,
adding their physical address and wait for their food. This will save time for
customers who wait in line to place an order and still wait to be served their food.
Other advantages will also arise from the system like; online menu viewing in case
someone has never heard of the restaurant which will also enhance marketing for
the restaurant and also ordering food in bulk. Maybe someone has a small
gathering of people, they can order food and expect it at their address without
having to struggle carrying all the food on their own.
IV. PROJECT OBJECTIVES

Main objective: To simplify the ordering of goods for clients.

Specific objective:
 Customers reduce wait times with easy-to-browse menu
option.
 Increase customer loyalty by providing a convenient, fast and
personalized experience.
 Allows the restaurant to expand their customer base and
increase sales.
V. LITERATURE REVIEW.

An automated food ordering system is proposed which will not only keep track of

user orders smartly but save the time of physically getting food. Basically, I
implemented a food ordering system for a restaurant in which user will make order
or make custom food by one click only by using C as the back-end language.
VI. METHODOLOGY
 Research methodology

I observed how the restaurant was operating. This provided me with a critical
descriptive data at much less expense.

I also interviewed so employees so as to get first hand information and

understand opinions better.

 Development methodology

Agile methodology because of how quickly it detects issues and defects
