REFLECTION The Perfect Storm

The movie was all about the fishing boat Andrea Gail headed by
Capt. Billy Tynes, who thrive hard to get more fish on their voyage. At the
beginning of the movie, the team of Vessel Andrea Gail was disappointed to the
load of catch they got, therefore, Capt. Billy decided to take the risk of heading a
dangerous route towards Bermuda Triangle where there was an upcoming
Hurricane. He ignored the call of danger thriving to get more fish.
During their voyage for 3 days their catch is still disappointing
therefore Captain decided to took another route. They encounter some incident
and the captain was full knowledgeable on how to handle things and situations
such as First Aid. There are a lot safety provisions being ignored on the movie,
such as wearing proper PPE in working place, handling equipment properly
during operations and obeying safety rules and regulation in a workplace. The
boat was being warned with the upcoming disaster, but they ignored it and
pursue their plans of crossing through the eye of the storm. Taking the risk and
ignoring the call of going back for their safety, leads them to death.
By watching the movie, I have concluded that safety precautionary
measures being implemented on a workplace should be strictly observed and
followed. This is to avoid big damage and leads to death. Occupational safety
and health aim to identify hazards in the workplace and determine the risk
associated with them, design the facility and manageprogram to reduce risks
associated with the hazards, and most importantly, to communicate hazard
identification and risk assessment.
