1 INTRODUCTION

1.1 Project Background

In Ruwais Train-1 & 2 Potable Water (PW) piping network, pipe wall thickness reduction with brownish
coloured water formation was reported. The piping material is Carbon Steel for size 3” & above and
Galvanized Steel for 2” & below. It was concluded by COMPANY that the existing carbon steel
material is not adequate for the current operating condition of PW service, as the water has dissolved
oxygen (about 7 ppm) and has stagnant flow. The prevailing condition creates internal corrosion
(localized pitting), as revealed in the inspection reports.

Arabian Industries LLC („CONTRACTOR‟) has been retained by ADNOC Gas Processing
(„COMPANY‟) as EPC Contractor for the „Potable Water System Upgrade in Train 1&2 at Ruwais‟
(„Project‟), Contract No. OMR.21.100.

1.2 Project Objective

In view of the above, through PCR PE5657 ADNOC Gas Processing (former GASCO) intends to
replace the existing Potable Water CS network (3” & above) in Train1 & 2 with GRE material provided
with UV inhibitor external layer and coated with paint system # 11 as per DGS-6600-010. The
Galvanized Steel network (2” & below) shall be replaced with GRE/SS. However, the existing CS
piping in the process area pipe rack is to be replaced with SS316L piping to avoid any structural
modifications.

1.3 Purpose of this Document

This document presents the site visit findings for the Potable Water System Upgrade in Train-1&2 At
Ruwais Project. This was arranged to identify the scope limits as described in the Project FEED
documentation and point out any discrepancy, missing data or physical obstructions.
