Dear Sir,

It’s an honour to submit and share my report on my internship program titled “A study on General

about corporate life and also how to be proficient and adept with a the situation if I choose this filed.
Finally, I would like to thank my supervisor and I appreciate all of your help and cooperation while I
worked on this report. I would be eternally grateful if you would please take a moment to read the

1. INTRODUCTION
1.1. Rationale: An Internship gives a platform to explore a totally new experiment like an
employee of an office where one can learn how to work confidently and responsibility with seniors.
Also, if the temporary work is part of a single major program and the graduates need to return to
work after finishing it, the skills they developed during the entry-level position would help them
achieve a superior overall academic performance. I began my Internship General banking at Sonali
bank on Jun 1, 2023. I started my journey here. The expedition was not incredibly complex.
Notwithstanding these deterrents and innovations that I had to deal with, I had unearthed another
potential inside myself and after surpassing each obstacle. The qualities I've acquired are extremely
valuable to me.
Nevertheless, several of my non-specialized skills, when coupled with my creativity, An Internship
Statement is a document created by an intern understudy to chronicle their responsibilities and tasks
during their internship.
An internship position greatly increases the likelihood of an undergrad scooping up the position.
After graduation, one should look for consistent employment. This report emphasizes the
understudy's role by compelling that person to complete certain tasks.
Throughout the work insight, acquire data and plan the report. It also demonstrates the assessment
and analysis of the development of the understudy as a specialist writer. As a consequence, I can state
that this report will reflect my entire effort and execution during the event. I will share my
experience, my flaws, my limitations, my learning skills which I have earned here, my
professionalism which I taught here, my responsibilities throughout the journey. Furthermore, and
perhaps most significantly, the Internship position gave a comprehensive understanding of the intern's
obligations by requiring them to gather data and plan the report across the work experience. The
understudy must then exhibit progress as a specialized essayist by introducing, breaking down, and
assessing their content at work

1.2. Background: Since the mid-1990s, Bangladesh's economy has experienced significant
growth. An influx of exiles, a modern and agricultural turn of events, cosmopolitan exchange
Internship port Department of Computer Science Page 10 of 30 the emergence of Bangladeshi
specialists, as well as local and foreign interests in development, communication, electricity, food
preparation, and administrative projects, ushered in a period of financial activity. Urbanization and
lifestyle changes, combined with economic growth, sparked interest in banking products and services
to enable new businesses to adequately channel customer interests by proclamation of the Banks'
Nationalization Order 1972 (Presidential Order-26), which liquidated the then National Bank of
Pakistan, Premier Bank, and Bank of Bahawalpur shortly after the country's independence, Sonali
Bank emerged as the country's largest and leading Nationalized Commercial Bank. The bank had
been executing its nation-building tasks as a completely state-owned institution by conducting
government-entrusted varied socio-economic undertakings as well as money market activities on its
own initiative, covering all aspects of the economy. The bank was converted to a Public Limited
Company with 100 percent government ownership and officially launched as Sonali Bank on
November 15, 2007, taking over all of Sonali Bank's assets, liabilities, and business. Following
corporatization, the bank's management was given the appropriate autonomy to make the bank
competitive and conduct its operations efficiently. The Board of Directors of Sonali Bank Plc is made
up of 11 (eleven) members. The CEO and Managing Director of the Bank is a well-known banker
and renowned individual. . Sonali Bank has 1227 branch in different cities and towns and two foreign

main commercial district.

E-STATEMENT, E-ADVICES, AND E-NOTIFICATION: An e-Statement, advices, or e-

Notification can indeed be stolen from your letter box, forwarded to an unsuitable address, or thrown
away. Sending e-Statements, e-Advices, and notifications to retail and corporate clients through email
(day by day and month by month) saves a lot of money because printer and paper courier costs are
not incurred by the bank.

● INTERNATIONALLY BROADCASTING: In 2001, Sonali Bank (UK) Limited was

founded in the United Kingdom as a joint venture between Sonali Bank and the Government
of Bangladesh. Six outlets are located in London, Luton, Birmingham, Bradford,
Manchester, and Camden. Under an agreement with Sonali Bank Plc, remittances from
Bangladeshi expats working in Malaysia are routed through May Bank of Malaysia. NRBs in
Middle Eastern nations also send their wages through 44 SBP-affiliated exchange firms.

● REMITTANCE DISBURSEMENT: SBP has implemented adequate mechanisms in

compliance with federal directives to guarantee that remitted funds are distributed smoothly
and quickly to wage earners' family and nominated persons. The arrangements include: I
remittance disbursement within eight to twenty-four hours through 61 outlets using RMS
Software; ii) one workstation for each exchange house/bank in the Wage Earners Corporate
Branch; iii) depositing the remittance at beneficiary's account instantly in 300 branches using
IFRMS (Instant Financial and Reconciliation Messaging System); iv) remittance
disbursement within eight to twenty-four hours through remittances; three complaint cells at
the headquarters resolve and confirm remittance complaints immediately; vi) Three
representative offices (Kuwait, Jeddah, and Riyadh) provide facilities and services to wage
earners for opening accounts in the Sonali Bank Limited, getting guarantee certificates
against balance, investing in Wage Earners Bond, Premium Bond, Savings Certificates, and
so on; vii) Annual Remittance Service Fortnight.

● FOREIGN EXCHANGE SYSTEM & TREASURY FUNCTION: All traditional banking

functions, including such deposit mobilization and lending, are performed by Sonali Bank.
As the Bangladesh Bank's agent, the bank performs treasury tasks. It collects taxes, stamp
duties, and registration fees, manages special savings accounts, and pays wages to teachers in
schools, madrasas, and colleges, as well as pensions to retired government workers. In rural
areas, the bank funds several income-generating and economic development programs,
including the Poverty Alleviation Credit Program, Female Special Credit Program, and
Agro-based
Industrial Credit Program. It has a significant presence in the foreign currency market and off-
balance sheet activities. The bank currently has correspondent relationships with 380 foreign banks
and bank offices across the world.

● HR DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES: Sonali Bank keeps track of its progress using a

production budget. It has a marketing intelligence department and a human resources

development program that includes training and motivation. The Lending Risk Analysis, as
recommended by the Financial Sector Reform Program, was implemented. In the 1990s, the
bank's business policies included satisfying capital adequacy, mobilizing huge sums of
deposits, and generating more profitable investments. To broaden its area of operations and
increase non-interest based incomes, the bank diversified its activities in off-balance sheet
commodities.

● ACHIEVEMENT OF THE BANK: Under the Enterprises Growth and Bank

Modernization Project, funded by the World Bank, a Comprehensive Management Plan for 2008-
2012 was adopted to introduce a model banking system, develop SBP into a more profit-
generating institution, and prepare and implement rules and procedures to make it more functional
to reflect minimum demand. SBP was ranked as The Best Retail Bank in Bangladesh by the
Asian Financial Journal the Asian Banker in Singapore on June 12, 2007 in recognition of its
exceptional contribution to the banking industry. [Muhammad Abdul Mazid]

● CENTRAL BANK REPORTING: The Bangladesh Bank (Central Bank) has asked a large
number of reports from all commercial banks, with varying span frequencies, such as
monthly, quarterly, and so on. It reflects the banks' whole deposit, investment, foreign
exchange, customer information, and all other financial transactions. A major portion of the
information in these reports has been withdrawn from the Core Banking Solution for Report
Generation purposes and routed to various divisions/branches for confirmation and
submission to the Central Bank.

1.1. Objectives: Sonali Bank PLC is one of Bangladesh's leading state banks. It is about to
launch its stock market debut. It has one head office, 30 main divisional offices, 11 General
Manager's Offices, 46 Principal Offices, 16 Regional Offices, and 1184 fully computerized
branches, assuring the best possible and fastest services to its valued clients, as well as
efficient management. Sonali Bank PLC corporate governance is defined as the framework
for directing and controlling the bank, as well as the relationships between management, the
Board of Directors, shareholders, and other stakeholders such as workers, clients, and
lenders. The corporate governance framework's objective is to guarantee disclosure and

openness, to clarify the board's and management's obligations, to define the rights and roles
of shareholders and other stakeholders, to ensure equal treatment, and to eliminate conflicts
of interest. Banks lend money that is effectively borrowed from depositors on behalf of
management and the Board, and bank failure could result in a monetary loss for depositors.
Depositors' interests must be safeguarded, which is why, among other things, bank corporate
governance differs from that of other businesses and requires specific care.

hold.

2.3. Other relevant activities

I had to work with several different clients. Some of them treated me respectfully,
while others didn't. It was particularly difficult for me because it was my first time
working with a client. I had to be up there at 10:00 am and depart at 3:00 pm.
Managing a work for five days in a row is never an easy task.

3. CONSTRAINTS/CHALLENGES
As I was a learner and totally new there it was very natural to face some issues in the beginning.
Issues and Problems encountered and identified during the internship affiliation with the
organization/company.
When I first started working at Sonali Bank's, I had certain difficulties. Sonali Bank has a
corporate appearance and is official in all respects. I was a little nervous on my first day because

Internship Report Department of Computer Science Page 16 of

there were so many high-ranking people surrounding me. But the truth is that I was able to
transcend these boundaries.

3.1. Observed the Organization:

Sonali Bank is a fully regulated and formally operated corporate bank. Their work
environment is pleasant, and their procedures are well-organized. They can be really helpful.
When someone fails to complete a task, they offer assistance till the task is completed. Tasks
are always assigned by team leaders to their members, and members complete them. I
couldn't identify anything that might be deemed a constraint in their work environment,
operational procedures, or training. Really they were very cooperative and they all were well
mannered. I was very grateful to have an opportunity to do an internship there.

3.2. Academic Preparations:

There will always be a huge difference between academic and corporate life. The academic
organizations always prioritize in theoretical parts where the professional sectors seem not
like the academic. Here professionalism, skills, experience, knowledge and intelligence
matter the most. While at work, I did not come across any tasks that were incompatible with
my academic preparation in terms of given tasks and other organization's operating
activities. The curriculum at AIUB has been designed to assist students in their professional
lives. While working or understanding theories, this has been acknowledged to me.
As a result, it can be argued that academic preparation at AIUB is relevant to current
responsibilities and future work requirements of enterprises.

3.3. Personal/Professional skills:

After joining as an Intern I realized that I still have some limitations to cope up with the
bank industry. I discovered myself as I still have some failings for professionals and act
upon it. Sometimes I get confused about how to deal with everyone in the office
professionally. Although I tried my level best to overcome my failings and limitations and
deal with it with confidence.

Internship Report Department of Computer Science Page 17 of

4. ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
These are the valuable lessons/knowledge/skills/behavior/practices you have learned or acquired from
your internship.
4.1. Consequences to Organization

From the learning and experience perspective I can say that I truly making the most of
my Internship in SBP. At the Baridhara Branch, from the first day, I felt sure that this
3- month Internship program will assist me with understanding my further vocation in
the Job market. I gained from my organization that working in a group is exceptionally
fundamental and significant. It is a great opportunity for me to get used to Banking
Procedure of SBP.

Learn about Organization Practice:

Each Organization they have own Culture. This organization do have their own
authoritative culture. I effectively get their Culture. I have procured a lovely overhaul in
my self-appraisal condition, presently I optimize my certainty level such that gives me
covered up reinforcement of working in such an organization. They never misbehaved
if I made any mistakes rather, they helped me to correct things. Other Interns were very
friendly and it was exciting to learn from them.

Working Condition:
This organization have great workplaces. A decent workplace brings about better
experience. Employees feel free to work at any given level of pressure. My coordinator
and supervisors were very helpful in assisting me. My organizer and managers were
extremely useful in helping me.

Communication & Networking:

During my internship program one of the most valuable and important thing I learned
how to communicate This Company highly emphasize on communication they prefer
virtual communication rather than faced to face communication.

Polite Behavior:
Working in SBP taught me to be a professional. They highly Accentuation on
professionalism. It is also one of the standards to fulfill requirements. They are casual

Internship Report Department of Computer Science Page 18 of

but very professional on their jobs. The professionalism increases the efficiency and
reduces the errors.

Learning and Significance:

My significance of obligations is to do the report in the Bangladesh Bank. So, all things
considered the Bangladesh bank can know how much fare and import & Export is
element done in our nation yearly. At the point when I have putted this data in their
System, as indicated by its code, it is then positioned with the Bangladesh Bank's
Software. So that case the public authority of the nation will be proficient to know how
much fare and import & Export is being done yearly so they can the budget much more
comprehensive for the people of Bangladesh. According to that case The Government
follow Facts that I mention below:
 Balance & Payment terms
 Trade shortage terms.
 Stock of requirement merchandise.
 Maximum exporting nation.
 Maximum importing nation.
 Actual & expected area of export.

4.2. Implications to University’s Internship Program

I would like to take this opportunity to thank people who have given me invariable
support while pursuing my internship curriculum. The Internship of AIUB is generally
excellent. It is very extraordinary and standard than other University. I might likewise
want to thank on my appreciation to my good Instructor during the arrangement of this
report. It had been an extraordinary delight to set up the report on SBP. My teacher gave
some valuable guidance to set up this report else I would not have the option to set up
this report. From this Internship I have found out about the corporate culture and
understood the significance of the internee program. I can correlate my academic
knowledge which I gathered from AIUB with my work life in SBP.

Lessons Learned from University’s Internship Program:

 Learned about how to make a Formal Affiliation Report:

Internship Report Department of Computer Science Page 19 of

The Internship report I'm making for my internship that will help me later on to make
some other report. I need to see while working in the bank that the Employee make there
are

allocated to plan diverse reports various occasions. I Become familiar with some
experience for my future corporate life and ideally, I will utilize my insight over yonder
when I begin working in corporate.

 Learned about how to Apply Work Experience in to a Report:

I have placed all my functioning involvement with this Affiliation report, really, I
figured out how relate two unique information all together. Before this, viable abilities
and hypothetical abilities those were absolutely two separate things for me. After
working in the workplace and up to my work in the report now I figured out how to
represent practical work in a theoretical context.

Communication proficiency:
From In my University, I developed my communication skill because there was one core
course for us which is Business communication. From this course Tanzil Tamanna mam,
he was my teacher in this course. He taught us how to communicate with each other’s,
how to write email in the corporate life etc.

Found out about how to Highlight Organization Portfolio in a Report:

I learned how to represent an entire company, its working environment and policies in a
report. I showed some chart on SBP, a few arguments of the works it does, who the
clients are, the way the framework runs. Along these lines, from next on it will be useful
for me.

4.3. Effects on Personal/Professional Skills

Changes can make humans either eternal or commonplace. My situation also

underwent a significant change. I'm really good at picking up new skills. In a
professional job, abilities are developed to such a great extent. However, picking an
organization heavily depends on professional capabilities. I consider myself really
fortunate to have had the chance to complete my internship program at a reputable
company with a large number of capable employees. I received the opportunity to

work for the Baridhara Branch of the Sonali Bank of Bangladesh when I was appointed

5. CONCLUDING STATEMENTS
5.1. Summary
First day of my Internship I was too energized when I joined Sonali Bank PLC (SBP) in
Baridhara Branch. I have adapted loads of new things and had a great Experience of my
Internship. I meet some people in my branch Johir bhaiya, Shyamoli Mam, Aktara Mam,
Jebun Mam, Azim sir they guided me well overall my internship. In the last time I meet
Sharif bhaiya. He taught me some of thing about corporate work. I need to realize how to
function in corporate life or industry and likewise how to deal with work pressure and how
to convey and manage the client, and what are the demand of client, how to maintain
records & file, corporate conduct, taking obligations. I have acquired this information from
my internship program. During my three-month program I had gained understandings
about client credit administrations. for example, accepting some loan application form,
giving Account opening Form, receiving all related document with duly filled up the
account opening form, approach to the head office for Credit Information Bureau (CIB)
inquiry about the details loan or liability status of the customer. And also, from other
department activities are account opening for saving and current account, cheque book
issue and delivery, debit card issue and delivery, receiving cash from customer, receiving
cash form in remittance department.

5.2. Recommendations
According to my intern I have face some problems and I feel there are some lacking in
SBP. In My Opinion & observation, there some suggestions for the improvements I given
below. They should arrange some medical facilities for employees and customers both. So
that injured person (employee, customer) can get some quick aid to handle the situation.
Sonali Bank Plc (SBP) need to ensure some transportation facility for their employees. It
will be better for the Employee. They can come on schedule. Sonali Bank PLC (SBP) need
to build more Reception corner, which will give all information. Sometimes customers face
problem. In the event that client get the correct data at ideal time, the client will feel
batter.Sonali Bank PLC(SBP) should give quickest service because there are numerous
competitors in the market. At the point when Clients get more advantage sitting inside
the room, at that point client will be more Interest to the Sonali Bank PLC (SBP) Sonali
Bank PLC (SBP) should utilize job rotation with the goal that all Employee get opportunity

all departments, as a result, in the absence of one or two employees, they can offer all
service without interruption.

5.2.1. Organization
Sonali Bank is one of the biggest and top government banks of Bangladesh. But they
should enhance more opportunities for fresher’s or fresh graduates by opening more It
related fields like General Banking, It ect. They should encourage the young
generations to work more with them. Also they should give some space for the interns
to work properly and reserve some seats for the Interns.
5.2.2. University
Students who often struggle to receive internship offers from businesses may benefit
from the university's initiative. The university could compile a list of big-name
businesses willing to give internships to its students. Supervisors of internships should
provide specific criteria for completing the report and other tasks. That guideline will
help interns complete their assigned tasks from both the university and the organization
correctly. University can arrange some workshop or seminar by inviting all the Interns
of the varsity by that they can find a platform to share their experiences, thoughts,
suggestions, which may be very useful for all of them.
5.2.3. Personal/Professional
As a Student I have deal with not many issues and which I have not learn in AIUB. As I
would see it perception, there certain ideas I given underneath: AIUB they should train
some development excel work to the student. Since excel work is vital in an
organization. In this way, University should consider it.By the hypothetical Information
University should taught some practical works of an organization to the student. Since,
that any Student find out about the organization they can work in office easily. All
courses instructor and Teacher they given some examples related to organization of
corporate work experience.Faculty should crate group with unknown students in section
for communication improvement each other student. Also, faculty can teach to student
how they can build up Socializing, Communication corporate network & how they can
obey life balance.
