Greetings from the VIT - Apollo Shine Health Center!

The Apollo SHINE Foundation is a registered not-for-profit created for the sole purpose of providing
healthcare services to schools and colleges as a means to spreading awareness about common health
problems at an early age, and to enable students to be completely equipped to handle different types
of medical/healthcare situations that might arise during their life.

With an experience of running campus health programs across the country for over 8 years now, we
have set up everything from well-equipped health rooms with nurses and doctors, to awareness
sessions and webinars, to health screening of students and teachers in over 120 schools and colleges,
impacting several lakh students, teachers, parents and grandparents across the country.

We are happy to work collaborate with VIT, Chennai as their health partner. Our services in your
institution have started as on 1st Feb 2024.

What you can expect from us:

1. A Well-Equipped 24/7 VIT - Apollo SHINE Health Center designed as per the specifications of the
Apollo Hospitals Student Health Division and establish protocols for triage, clinical services,
documentation, medical intervention and emergencies. Any health-related issue or emergency
can be handled at the Health Center.

2. A Qualified and experienced Medical Officer and Nursing officer specially trained in on-campus
health and clinical protocols will be available 24/7 in the VIT - Apollo SHINE Health Centre. The
SHINE Medical Team can be approached for any health issues, queries, concern and insecurities.
 The SHINE Medical Team follow the Apollo SHINE Code of Health Management with strict
adherence to triaging process and documentation.

Green: Basic First Aid is administered and the student is sent back to the class.

Yellow: The SHINE Nurse will consult the Doc on Call an implement the doctor’s order. Parents
will be informed, Nurse Assessment Form will be handed to the student and advised to consult a
doctor for further follow-up.

Red: Patient Stabilized by the SHINE Nurse and moved by ambulance to the ER with Nurse
Assessment Form.

3. Our Shine Parivar App, available for Androids and iPhones. Following are the features available
in the App

• First Aid tele-consult with Shine Nurses (9:00 am

to 5:30 pm, Monday to Saturday)

• Linked Digital Shine Card with discounts for Students,

Parents, and Grandparents

• Free Emergency Ambulance Support

• One-touch-connect to the Apollo 24/7 app

• Health Information & invitations to virtual Health QR Code to download the App
Education talks

• Medical History for Health Screening. It is

mandatory for all to download the App and
register in it with details for facilitating Health
Screening.

4. Health Screening will be conducted for the students and staff. The Shine Medi-Screen, focusses
on quickly screening students for signs of possible future medical issues. Details are as follows:

• Height, Weight, BMI,
• Vision
• Vitals
• BP check-up (for students of age of 14 years and above)
 ➢ Systemic Examination
• Ear, Nose, Throat
• Respiration system
• Cardiovascular system
• Central nervous system
• Skin, Hair
• Dental Assessment

The Medi-Screen will be scheduled on mutually convenient dates.

5. Shine Cards will be given for all Students & Staff. Benefits that can be availed are as follows:

• 15% off on Out-patient investigations at any Apollo Hospitals

• 15% off on room rent and investigations for In-patient billing at any Apollo Hospitals

6. Student Health Ambassador Program – Selected students will become the peer educator of
Health & Hygiene. These students will be given SHINE Ambassador Badge and also undergo First
Aid & BLS Training. They will coordinate with the Shine Nursing Officer and will initiate new
ideas and events pertaining to the SHINE Program in the school.

7. First Aid and Basic Life Support Training – Our training and certification can help teachers and
non-teaching staff respond safely and effectively to medical emergencies that could happen in
the lab, the playground, the restrooms and even on class trips.
8. Health Talks & Webinars for students, teachers and parents in various topics to create
awareness, educate them on healthy lifestyle and thus prevent diseases.

Webinars: Monthly, a Webinar is conducted for the student community by Medical Specialists.
We will share the details a week before the Webinar.
