A tag question is a short question that is added to the end of a statement.

uncertainty.

Rules for forming tag questions:

The tag question has the opposite polarity of the main statement.
The auxiliary verb in the tag question is the same as the main verb in the statement.
The subject pronoun in the tag question agrees with the subject of the main statement.
Examples:

Tag questions are usually spoken with a rising intonation, even when they are negative.
