A Startling Encounter

I had been walking through the forest for hours, when I suddenly heard something moving
behind me.
I didn't know what to do, I was very scared. With each step I took, I felt the sound getting
closer. My heart pounded in my chest. Every instinct in me urged me to run, to flee from the
danger lurking behind me. However, a paralyzing fear held me in place, rendering me unable
to make a clear decision.
Despite the fear, I forced myself to turn around and face what awaited me. I slowly turned
my body, and there, just a few meters away, there was only a curious little creature that had
been following my steps. It was a playful squirrel, moving agilely between the trees, making
the noises that had scared me.
I can laugh about it now, but at the time, it was the most frightening thing that had ever
happened to me.
