Tittle : Sizing Calculation For Liquid Service Control Valve Revision No. 0
1. CALCULATION OBJECTIVE
The objective of this calculation is to determine the correct size of control
valve for liquid service. Calculation methods are done according to ISA and IEC
procedures.
2. GENERAL INFORMATION
Equipment name = Control Valve
Equipment tag number = CV-201
Line number = SSG-RA-P1-8"-SS304-INS
3. PROCESS DATA
2.1 Liquid data
Liquid name = Propanol
Volumetric flowrate q = 30.000 L/h
0
Operating temperature T = 60 C
Density at temperature ρ = 764 kg/m3
Inlet pressure P_in = 450 kPa
Outlet pressure P_out = 435 kPa
Vapor pressure P_vap = 20,3 kPa
Critical pressure Pc = 5190 kPa
4. CALCULATION
4.1 Piping Factor Calculation
FP is a correction factor that accounts for pressure losses due to piping fittings
such as reducers, elbows, or tees that might be attached directly to the inlet and
outlet of the control valve to be sized. FLP might recalculate.

5. RESULT
The required CV above are evaluated with rated CV that initially selected. If
required CV exceeds assumed valve, it shall recommended to increase one nominal
size. Altough next larger size gives correct result, it is may not always true.
