Accessible reading: Printable versions of the main reading text from each unit of the
Student’s Book in an alternative, more accessible format. The texts and their accompanying
visuals are set in a reader-friendly design to make the reading lesson more inclusive for
all students.
Tips for exam success: Detailed information on useful tips and strategies for exam
success, organised by unit and task.
Irregular verb list: The Student’s Book list of useful irregular verbs at each level.
Phonetic transcriptions have been provided to support pronunciation.
Wordlists: The wordlists contain key vocabulary from each unit. These include target
vocabulary sets and key vocabulary from the Student’s Book texts and activities. Phonetic
transcriptions have been provided to support pronunciation. Example sentences, featuring
the key vocabulary, show how to use the word or phrase. Available in English only or with
translations.

Virtual Classroom Exchange: A series of practical guidelines to help teachers and schools set up
real-life communication situations through virtual classroom exchanges between students in their school
and another school.
Exam mapping: A map of each level of the Student’s Books and Workbooks against the corresponding
Cambridge for Schools Key, Preliminary and First exams, as well as CAE and IELTS.
TESTS AND EXAMS
Diagnostic test: The diagnostic test in PDF and editable Word format helps you assess your students’ level
and their grasp of the skills and language covered the previous year. The results will enable you to identify areas
that need further consolidation at the beginning of the academic year.
Placement test: The placement test in PDF and editable Word format helps you assess which level of
Gateway to the World, from A1+ to C1, is suitable for your students’ level.
Progress tests: To be used at the end of each unit 1–10 to assess your students’ progress on grammar,
vocabulary, use of English and skills. The tests are available at two levels (Standard and Higher) to cater for every
ability.
Mid-year test (Units 1–5): To be used in the middle of the year, these tests assess your students’ progress
by reviewing the contents from several units. They test grammar, vocabulary, use of English and skills, and are
available at two levels (Standard and Higher) to cater for every ability.
End-of-year test: To be used at the end of the school year, this test helps you assess your students’ progress
in grammar, vocabulary, use of English and skills at this level. The test is available at two levels (Standard and
Higher) to cater for every ability.
Cambridge practice exams: Two mock Cambridge English Qualifications for Schools exams (in A2, B1, B2
and C1) to supplement the exam preparation in the Exam Success and Exam Trainer sections of the Student’s
Book and Workbook for those levels.

Flipped classroom videos: Videos of the flipped classroom grammar videos featuring Dave Spencer,
