Beberapa istilah yang digunakan :

Past = lebih
To = kurang
Half = 30 menit
A quarter = 15 menit
A.M = ante meridiem ( mulai jam 00.pagi samapai jam 12 siang)
P.M = past meridiem (mulai jam 12 siang samapai jam 00 pagi)
Catatan : past digunakan untuk menit ke 1 sampai menit ke 30,sedangkan to digunakan untuk
menit ke samapi 59.
Contoh:
6.00 = six o’clock
6.05 = five past six
8.10 = ten past eight
9.15 = a quarter past nine
10.30 = a half past ten
1.45 = a quarter to two

Langsung dibaca dari depan ke belakang ( jamnya dulu baru menitnya)

Pertama kita akan mengenali dua jenis kalimat dalam bahasa inggris yaitu :
1. Kalimat verbal (s+v+o)
Merupakan kalimat yang mengandung kata kerja/predikat didalamnya.
Contoh kata kerja:

Tidur
Menyapu
Etc.
Contoh kalimat verbal;
Saya makan nasi / I eat rice
Mereka tidur / they sleep
2. Kalimat nominal (s+is/amare+complement)

Merupakan kalimat yang tidak terdapat kata kerja didalamnya.hanya terdapat
complement untuk melengkapi kalimat tersebut.
Contoh kalimat nominal;
Aku bahagia / I am happy
Mereka pintar / they are smart
Dia sopan / she is polite
Bentuk kalimat positif,negatif dan introgative dalam kalimat verbal dan nominal .

Daily activity
Contoh telling daily activity
Hai guys,
I want to tell about my daily activity.I usually get up at 5 o’clock am.then I go to
bathroom to take a bath.after that I change into my school uniform and have breakfast with all
my family.at 6.30 I go to school .I study at school start from 6.45 to 11.30.
After studying sometimes I go to my grandma’s house to have lunch because my parents
are still in the office. After eating I take a nap and get up at 15.00. next I take a bath and go
home. At home I sometimes have family time with my parents untill 6 0’clock pm. After that I
study untill 8 o’clock and go to bed.
How to tell about your daily activity?

First, we have to use simple present.here is all about simple preset tense.
A. Rumus kalimat verbal:

(-) S + do/does + not + v1 + o
(?) do/does + S +v1 + o ?
Contoh:

Ch = touch – touches Take = takes
O = go – goes Drink = drink . etc
Untuk kata yang berakhiran huru ‘y’ terdapat 2 aturan.yaitu:

1. ‘y’ yang diubah menjadi ‘i’ dan ditambahkan ‘es’ apabila huruf sebelum ‘y’ merupakan
huruf konsonan ( huruf mati ).
Contoh:
Cry menjadi cries

2. ‘y’ tidak dirubah tapi hanya ditambahkan hruf ‘s’ apabila huruf sebelu ‘y’ merupakan

Apa itu modal auxiliary?

Modal verb atau kata kerja modal merupakan sebuah auxiliary verb, atau kata kerja bantu.
Kata kerja bantu ini harus digunakan dengan kata kerja utama. Kata kerja modal ini digunakan
untuk mengekspresikan kebutuhan, kemungkinan, kemampuan, permintaan, juga perintah.
Modal auxiliary “ will,would,can and could.
Will = di gunakan saat ingin mengucapkan rencana berikut tindakan.
Would = digunakan ketika menceritakan hal yg akan dilakukan di masa lampau namun
tidak terlaksana atau bisa juga untuk pengandaian, kadang juga untuk
melembutkan kalimat offer and order.
Can = digunakan untuk mengungakpakan kemampuan atau kesanggupan.
Could = digunakan untuk mengungkapkan kemampuan atau kesanggupan baik lampau

atau present, bisa juga kemungkinan
dan juga melembutkan ungkapan kalimat offer and order.
Contoh :
I will do my loundry tomorrow
I would not forbid you to do what you want
Would you like to take the bag for me please?

Must
Must adalah modal verb dalam bahasa Inggris yang fungsi utamanya adalah untuk menyatakan
kewajiban. Kata ini pada umumnya dipakai untuk menyatakan kewajiban yang datang dari diri
si pembicara.
Rumus: S + MUST + Verb + O
Contoh
 I must talk to my mother before I leave.
 you must keep the house clean.
 you must help your parents.
Must juga digunakan untuk menyatakan aturan formal.
