Didactics of the English Language I

Teaching Philosophy Essay
Due date: Tuesday 9, august.
When I became interested in the English language for a university career, I had the opportunity to opt for a

bachelor's degree with a teaching option, but my purposes and goals did not include an image of myself teaching

others. From the beginning, I had the idea that after graduating with a bachelor's degree in English, I could study

for a master's degree in order to broaden my knowledge, and skills and thus be able to have a plus on my resume

and be able to apply for better jobs.

The teaching of the English language is a broad subject from which, from my point of view, many things can be

learned and transmitted. The teaching of the English language is undoubtedly very flexible, which gives me the

option of applying to a public or private institution, and at the same time, I can choose to offer private classes,

which makes my field of work very broad in all the senses.

In the years that I have been studying for my university career, I have never had the opportunity to take a subject in

which I could learn about all these approaches to teaching a language, or simply a course that would allow me to

have the idea that being a teacher is not something bad or something I didn't want until I started studying Didactics.

I can't say that now I want to be a professional teacher, but really the fact of obtaining all this knowledge and being

able to teach others through different approaches, methods, and techniques is something that makes me very

interesting. I've probably never been interested in being a teacher for different reasons; fear, insecurity, and perhaps

misinformation has been the greatest. The fear that I am not good enough to teach others, the insecurity of

believing that others could not see me as someone with authority and even the misinformation I have had about

what makes a good teacher. To this day I continue with the idea that my first approach is not to teach others but I

like the idea of learning and knowing everything that has to do with teaching, in this way I can understand my

teachers and empathize more with them.

I want to continue learning to improve my skills and knowledge so that one day I can take on the challenge of

teaching others and help more people get to know the world of teaching as something big where we all have a

space.
