Sanitation is crucial for public health as it prevents disease transmission by managing
waste and maintaining clean water sources. It protects water quality, the environment, and
ecosystems by preventing pollution. Adequate sanitation positively impacts economies by
reducing healthcare costs and boosting productivity. It upholds human dignity and quality
of life, especially for vulnerable groups, and supports education by providing hygienic
facilities. Sanitation is vital during disasters, and it fosters community well-being and social
cohesion. In essence, sanitation safeguards health, environment, economy, and overall well-
being.
