Topic: “Combating Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery in Thailand”

The General Assembly, Human Rights Council

Recognizing that human trafficking and modern slavery are serious offenses against
human rights and dignity, contradicting the principles of freedom, justice, and peace
worldwide,
Stressing the fact that Thailand, a significant part of the Greater Mekong Sub-region, is
known for high instances of human trafficking and modern slavery, with victims often
forced into labor, and they are sexually exploited,
Acknowledging that these unlawful activities pose significant threats to fairness in
society, economic growth, and national security, breaking the rule of law, causing
corruption, and leading to other types of organized crime,
Reminding all nations that victims of modern-day slavery and human trafficking, who are
frequently the most vulnerable members of society, struggle with serious mental and
physical damage and lose their fundamental rights to freedom, education, and a decent
salary,

b) Psychological support should be provided to help victims cope with the
mental and emotional trauma,
c) Legal assistance should be available to help victims navigate the legal
system and seek justice;
4. Requests that Thailand should launch public awareness campaigns to educate the
public about the harsh realities of human trafficking and modern slavery,
a) These campaigns should aim to inform the public about the signs of human
trafficking and modern slavery,
b) They should also promote public participation in efforts to combat these
crimes;
5. Suggests Thailand to actively engage with the international community to share
best practices, coordinate efforts, and strengthen global responses to human
trafficking and modern slavery,
