UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM
2. Course description
This course consist of two parts as follows:
- Part 1: Types of oscillation including harmonic oscillation, damp oscillation, periodic
oscillation, forced oscillation of the mechanical and electromagnetic oscillators;
- Part 2: Concepts and principles of wave including mechanical waves, Huygens’ principle,
wave function, wave energy, wave propagation, phase/group velocity of wave, principle of
overlapping wave and interference, sound wave, ultrasound wave, Doppler effect,
electromagnetic waves and properties of electromagnetic waves.
Moreover, this course will help students develop skills in using English.
3. Course Objectives
3.1 General Course Objective
Help learners to be able to teach, research and work in fields related to Oscillations and
waves at educational institutions, career units and businesses, as well as learn related modules
and lifelong learning. In addition, the course also helps learners develop some soft skills.
3.2 Specific Course Objectives (COs)
- CO1: knowledge about Vibration and Wave for career activities and lifelong
learning;
- CO2: soft skills, creative thinking, ability to inspire and adapt to the changing
working environment;
- CO3: professional qualities and ethics.
4. Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs)
After completing the course, students will be able to:

Note:
- I (Introduced) – CLO supports the PLO and at the level of introduction/beginners
- R (Reinforced) – CLO supports the PLO and at the level higher than the level of
introduction/beginners, giving chances for practice, experiment and fieldtrips
- M (Mastery) – CLO strongly supports learners in mastering/ grasping or achieving
PLO/ PI. If the learner successfully completes this CLO, it is considered that the learner has
mastered a program indicator (PI) of the PLO or even mastered the entire PLO.
- A (Assessed) – Critical CLO (maximum support for PLO achievement) needs to be
collected to measure how well learners achieve the PLO
